Tear open one packet of Bastion Coffee Machine Descaler and add it to the empty water reservoir.
Fill the water reservoir with warm/hot water and stir to dissolve and evenly mix the product
If your machine has a “Descale Mode”, select this setting. If not, brew using the large cup setting repeatedly (without coffee or pod) until the reservoir is empty or until the machine indicates low water level.
Rinse any remaining mixture from the water reservoir.
Brew 3 more pots / cups using only water, then resume regular brewing.

I used this as soon as I got it. Ran the solution through once, then ran 3 cycles of plain water. While we could smell it afterwards, we detected nothing affecting the taste of the coffee. And our pot brews much more quickly now!

I selected this because it is a very basic product that doesn't require buying a name brand. I got the same results for less money. I also like that it comes in a compact jar instead of a cardboard box that flops around in the cupboard and takes up more space.

I did not expect a descaler in a powder form. It is necessary to dissolve it with water before you use it. You never know if it is completely dissolved.
