Not too difficult to put together. I did wind up having to switch to my own screwdriver as the one provided was small and uncomfortable and thus took too long. But if you do not have a screwdriver, it does provide one so that is definitely a positive.Some of the part label stickers were a bit difficult to peel off, but most were easy. For the ones that didn’t peel right off, i just put some hand sanitizer on the remaining residue and rubbed it off.The drawer is smaller than i was of the impression it would be. I also found the thin piece that makes up the bottom of the drawer to be a tad too short, as when i put on the last piece of the drawer walls, i had to try and finagle the bottom piece to actually sit in the slot of both of the long wall sides. Pretty simple stuff that’s easy to move past, but I did wind up having to DIY some drawer stops of sorts in order to keep the drawer from going out the other side of the shelf. However, a benefit I can think of for it not including a back/drawer stopper is the fact that you can swap the overall shelf orientation for your space.The biggest thing though is i was under the impression that the degree of overlap between the two shelves was fully customizable. However, there are only 3 holes for the dowel (which i also found a tad too short). The location i have it set at in the picture is the most amount of overlap that you can have with the aid of the dowel to somewhat lock the two halves in place. And again, the dowel was a bit too short, so it doesn’t take much lifting at all to make the two halves come apart. Also, since there is only 1 dowel instead of 2, there is a tendency for the two halves to swivel. I fixed this however with some painter’s tape.Another suggestion i might make is something i’ve seen included with a couple of my bookshelves: stickers the color of the wood to cover the exposed screws.But this shelf is the perfect size for where and what I needed it for - a bedside divider and shelf. I have had the toughest time finding a shelf that’s the right length, height, and shelf arrangement. The added benefit of the drawer was the final detail that made me buy this one. The wood and screws are pretty good quality, and I can see this shelf lasting.

Bought this to go on top of my daughter’s desk. She’s 6 and she has a basic ikea desk which is the right size for her room but lacks storage besides one drawer so this allows her to store more things

Easy to put together (although I used my own much-better screwdriver and suggest you do too). Looks MUCH neater on my desk. I took off one star because the drawer will go right through and out the other side; my desk floats in the middle of the room, but luckily I have this on a side table up against the wall. I like that the width can be customized, but the fact that it is so easily movable means it....well, easily movable. I'm thinking of adding a line of putty between the two pieces to make it a bit more stable. All in all, I do like it and would buy it again. I can see it being used in lots of ways: on a desk; on a vanity for toiletries or makeup; for jewelry; in a craft room; in the guestroom for little amenities like a sewing kit, aspirin, Band-Aids, pretty soaps, guest-size shampoo and conditioner, water bottles, etc. I can even see it on a kitchen countertop; a few cookbooks, measuring spoons and cups, specialty tools, etc. Heck, I may need to get a couple more!
