Easy to mount. Rolls up easily. Left the hose on that came with it. Haven't used it in the extreme cold yet so I don't know how the hose will act in below freezing temperatures. All in all an excellent product especially for the price

Overall a pretty nice reel. No leaks and feels sturdy enough. Mounted easily to my air compressor cart. Hose is nicer than the one that came with my compressor. Locking pin to prevent reel rotation was defective out of the box. Made in China.

Automatic spring retraction is over rated. The hose reel doesn’t fight me as I’m pulling it out, no hunting for the sweet spot where the ratchet pawls engage to keep the hose out while I’m using it. It then pulls back easily with the hand crank when I’m finished. No leaks in the fitting between stationary pigtail and rotating drum.

The DEWALT manual cord reel has been a great addition to my garage. I like the fact that it is manual control. I can roll out as much as I need and rolling it back up is a breeze. You don't have to worry about losing control with an automated rewind. The reel is heavy duty and the hose seems to be of good quality. The only downside is the connector hose between the reel and compressor is only 36" or so. If you want to mount your reel higher on the wall, you will need another hose.

I used to have the air hose coiled up sitting on the floor of my garage, what a hassle to use and recoil every time. Not to mention the mess of the air hose everywhere when it didn't get coiled back up. I don't have this issue anymore since I installed this reel. The quality is great and makes using the air hose so much more convenient without having a 50 foot air hose laying around on the floor. I should have purchased this years ago, I just didn't know how much of a difference it would make!

The compressor is in a heated part of my shop. I need to run air outside in the winter with a hose that just behaves itself. This unit is not that portable but you can take it off the mounting base very easily.
