I’ve been doing small router project inside and spending a lot of time cleaning up. Not now. Attached this to my Dewalt plunge base and used a Rockler powerport tool hose, and attached it to my large shop vac. When I turned the vac on the suction was so powerful it moved the router. Keep my sight lines free of debris. Great attachment. No issues with any debris getting caught anywhere.

Connected easily despite lack of instructions. Virtually no dust while doing multiple template routings.

Bought the Dewalt compact router plunge base and this was an add on, and since I am always trying to cut down on the dust, I had to pick it up. Came in plastic bag, but in perfect condition. Attaches to the base very easily with one screw. Fit is perfect.Thing is, far too many people expect it to do something it can not do. They are not thinking how a router works, and they just give it a bad review. Could also be that Dewalt builds it up to much. This adapter will only work when you are working in the wood. Like when hollowing out for a tray. It does work quite well for that purpose. Yes, it is limited. Everything else, that is under the router, flush cut, edge treatment, ect, it won't work, it can't possible work because it's pulling from above. It does not have any super powers. Gotta have the proper expectations. For under the router you need to catch the dust, under the router. There are other options for that.Although, I am not crazy about the hook up port design. The hook up port goes straight up, which is not good. For one, your hose will probably be more in your way. Worst, it's going to get stress when you are pushing on the hose each time. It's going to put stress on the elbow and I don't know how long it will be before it breaks. So you'll need to be gentle putting on your hose, so it lasts. Other brands like Makita tend to go out the side, that makes so much more sense and stress is not on an elbow. Minus 1 star doe that part of the design.Even though it's not perfect, it does work for some uses and I am still happy I have it. If you have the proper expectations, it might be for you.

Easy to mount on the Dewalt compact router plunge base. Attach your shop vac's hose (may need an adapter -- it takes a small hose). Dust gets pulled down to the shopvac and stays out of your line of sight. Also stays out of your face and eyes and off of your benchtop. I wish I'd had this years ago! I'll use it every time now.

I was hesitant to get his because I was unsure of the fit, after seeing others stating and showing photos of this fitting their compact plunge base. I was happy to see that it fits perfectly. It has a lower chamber that came come apart incase anything clogs up the port that attaches to the vacuum. The other concern I had was the clearance by the plunge lever. There is plenty of clearance, even with the vacuum hose attached. This adapter works with the standard shop vac hoses, 1-1/4

Connected to a standard, big box shop vacuum, this dust collection port dramatically reduced the amount of dust build-up while using my DW611 router. I used to stop frequently while routing signs, just to clear dust. The dust collection port works effectively enough that I no longer have to take these stops, allowing me to work through a stack of signs in a fraction of the time. I have not had any problems with dust sticking to or clouding the clear plastic shell either, allowing a good line of sight from most angles while the router is running. I cannot say how much of the dust is captured in percentage terms, but what used to require clean-up with a vacuum or dust collector can now be cleaned with just a brush. The dust port was easy to install on the appropriate plunge base. I handle my tools pretty gently, so I cannot speak to the durability of the port. There is a little flex in the part though, so I would probably put the port/base assembly in its own box before letting it rattle around with heavier tools.

Pops right in, easy install. Only modest dust collection capability, and partially obsures view of the tool, so have to trust your setup. Without it, dustbuild up is terrible, so it does work

When I first bought my router these were mentioned as available options by I couldn't find any, so I was very happy to see this and it works very well.

Like many things you buy something based on what you see and hear and many times its just not like that . However with this dust collector it is just like that! it works great! highly recommend, it keeps the work area clean and you are able to see what you are doing, really takes away sawdust and bits of wood flying around. Glad I made the purchase.
