I recently purchased the DEWALT FLEXVOLT 60V MAX* Dust Extractor (DCV585B), and it has been a game-changer for my worksite dust management. This tool combines power, portability, and efficiency in a way that significantly enhances both the cleanliness and safety of my projects.**Performance:**The DCV585B boasts a strong 125 CFM suction, which is ideal for a variety of tasks, including tuckpointing and surface applications. During use, it effectively captures nearly all airborne particles, thanks to its high-performance HEPA filters and dual automatic filter cleaning system. This was particularly noticeable when drilling anchor holes and grinding tiles, where the extractor left virtually no dust in the air.**Wireless Tool Control:**One of my favorite features is the Wireless Tool Control, which allows the extractor to be operated remotely. This means I can start or stop the vacuum without needing to touch it, conserving battery life and adding convenience. The remote control can be attached to my tools or wrist, making it incredibly easy to use in different positions and situations.**Build and Design:**The extractor is well-designed with an 8-foot anti-static hose that wraps conveniently around its body. Its compact size and light weight make it easy to transport and store. The DEWALT AIR-LOCK system ensures that the hose attaches securely to compatible tools, minimizing any disconnections during use.**Filter System:**The dust extractor features dual HEPA filters and an internal fleece bag to protect the main filters and motor from coarse particles. The automatic filter cleaning mechanism kicks in every 20 seconds to ensure continuous suction and prevent clogging. This feature is crucial for maintaining performance and longevity, especially in demanding environments.**Versatility and Noise Level:**Despite its power, the DCV585B operates at a relatively low noise level of around 79 decibels, which is acceptable for most job sites. Its versatility extends to both wet and dry applications, making it suitable for a wide range of tasks from concrete drilling to renovation projects in sensitive environments like homes with clients who have respiratory issues.**Battery Life and Cost:**With a 2.0Ah FlexVolt 60V battery, the extractor provides about 20 minutes of continuous runtime, which is sufficient for most tasks before needing a recharge. While the price may seem steep at around $400 for the bare tool and up to $729 for the kit with batteries and charger, the investment is justified by the performance and the health benefits of effective dust management.**Final Thoughts:**Overall, the DEWALT FLEXVOLT 60V MAX* Dust Extractor (DCV585B) is an outstanding tool that offers exceptional performance, convenience, and safety. Whether you are working on a construction site, in a client’s home, or even outdoors, this dust extractor helps maintain a clean and healthy environment. It's a worthwhile addition to any professional's toolkit.**Warranty:**DEWALT offers a 3-year limited warranty, 1-year free service, and a 90-day money-back guarantee, providing peace of mind with your purchase.I highly recommend this product to anyone serious about efficient and portable dust extraction solutions.

I also have the 20V dewalt cordless vacuum and this has much more suction. It's relatively quiet too. I really like the hose storage (wish it was on top but it works okay located on the bottom). It's a great size too. Big enough to hold a decent amount of dust but also easy to carry and transport. I'll be selling my 20V vac. Just wish Dewalt would create some basic shop vac attachments that worked with their locking coupler without an adapter.

I can't believe how good this works. I use it mostly for fine dust created in the masonry industry. Maintains suction better than most corded non-hepa vacs out there with heavy fine dust.I gave it four stars because the manufacturer does not make a properly sized fleece bag for it. It came with one that was the right size. However they do not make this smaller size to be purchased. Dewalt says to use the bags that are made for the much larger corded units. With that larger bag completely folded up and jammed into the small tank of this unit, it barely fits and clogs almost instantly. Shame on you Dewalt for not supporting a quality unit with properly sized consumables within a year? of putting the machine on the market.Buy 12 ah batteries!

You heard me, it sucks, it sucks hard! It sucks even harder with a 15ah battery and turns into a serious vacuum. I regret nothing when I gave away my hard earned money for this fine piece of equipment. Was able to sand indoors around children with my orbital sander on a kitchen job.

This vacuum comes with a white, fleece bag that is properly sized for the vacuum itself. It performs well and the size and shape makes sense for the vacuum. The suggested replacement fleece bags, DWV9402 *appear* to work and are made of the same material and have the same connection port, but they are comically oversized for this device and much more difficult to install and mate to the bag port. You have to fold the bag in on itself several times to make it fit.For what it's worth, the vacuum appears to work properly with the much larger DWV9402 bags, but it is a waste of material and they are, of course, more expensive. The bottom line is, there are not the right bags for this unit and as far as I can tell it is not possible to buy the properly sized bag that comes with the unit. As of April, 2020, the Dewalt product page on their website shows no bags under the accessories section of the product page for this vacuum.

Great vacuum, works just fine for me. Relatively quiet and b.t. remote is very handy. Don't listen to reviews about replacement bags being hard to get, I've got paper and fleece ones with no problem. DCV9400, DCV9401 and DCV9402 are plastic, paper and fleece in that order. With intermittent use and a 9a.h. battery, I can work til lunch then put in a fresh 9a.h. battery to go the rest of the day.

Do not buy this product!! Total waste of money. Dewalt dropped the ball on this design. Dust collection tank is too small. Filters crush the dust collection bag therefore rendering capacity to near zero. Inlet gets clogged at sharp angle that it enters collection tank. Check the Dewalt website and read other reviews before purchasing! Serious design flaw

I love that it’s cordless. It pairs really well with my cordless Dewalt drywall sander. It has enough power for the drywall sander, so I will assume it will be more than enough power for my 5†Dewalt orbital sander. I don’t find it to be effective for vacuuming messes on the floor. I’m going to dedicate this extractor to just collect power tool dust. I wish Dewalt outfitted all of it’s tools with the special exhaust port to facilitate a beautiful connection to the extractor. With a little refinement to their system, this would be a 5 star rating.
