This is the best router I have ever had. All mechanisms are very accessible and with very positive stops. Smooth running motor. Definitely can recommend

Edited 6/16/23:This router was awesome, until a couple months ago it started to have crazy vibration. After much testing and based on the vibration magnitude change through the plunge stroke, the only explanation I have is that the bearings in the plunge mechanism are shot. I’ll have to open it to see how things look but 7 months between purchase and this starting with very mild use (maybe 2 hours total run time tops) is just way too short a time and disappointing. This router resembles other similarly designed competitors in pictures, but it is above and beyond when you get it in hand.-dust collection setup in the box, and it adds almost nothing to the footprint so you don’t lost any options for use/mounting-the fine depth adjust is also a large diameter threaded column that doubles as a way to lock the motor and base together, way more elegant than some other designs out there-the throttle engages and disengages, first try, everything—unlike some others out there-the plunge depth adjuster is really cool how it is set up, it lets you make accurate changes way faster than some other set ups-the plunge lock has a spring loaded mechanism you can prime, which unlocks the motor to move freely, and then with a tiny pull it fires to throw the lock, eliminating virtually any vertical play that might happen while you manually throw the lock—just awesome-3 yr warrantyThose are the highlights. This thing is also built like a truck, and even the packaging is smart (which sounds small, but it always sucks when a tool comes and it might have been slamming around in delivery). All in all, this is a no brainer, and I also own what is basically it’s main competitor so no bias here.

This router is fantastically powerful and precise. It will use any DeWalt edge guide. It will accurately handle any big job. I gave it only 3 stars for versatility because it is approximately the size of a bathroom waste basket. It needs to be that big to handle the biggest router bits and heavy cutting. It has a vastly different use than a compact router meant to be used quickly with one hand operation. Plunge routers in general are difficult to adjust in average router tables. This would not be a great choice for someone who only wants one router. But back to the positive…if you have heavy cutting chores, thus router can’t be beat.

Very heavy duty and powerful. It has a number of well thought out features and one serious weakness. That weakness is with the plunge setting locking system where repeated plunges of the same depth are being performed. Each plunge bumps the stop and each plunge needs to be to the same consistent depth. However, I experienced that each bump of the stop made it change a little and no matter how tight I tried to lock the stop in place, it still continued to slip and the plunge was a little deeper each time. As a result, I couldn't rely on the stop for depth consistency and had to very closely monitor the depth manually. I was very disappointed in this function of the router. Of lesser note, the vacuum shield around the bit shaft is much larger and more open than I think it should be. This reduces the effectiveness of the vacuum attached to the router for chip removal and leaving a lot of debris behind. With all that said, I still think it a good router to own.

The router is a heavy, powerful, and sturdy router. The dust collector works. However, it has a major flaw that was not obvious initially - the depth gauge is far from the actual measurements. For example, if you set the depth gauge to 1", the actual depth of cut will be different, and the difference will be relatively significant. I sent it to a DeWALT repair center to fix this problem four months after purchasing the router; I got it back after about five weeks, but no repair was done - only a handwritten note stating that the technician was not sure about the type of the bit I was using. I was also referred to the Instruction Manual. Apparently, this is a known problem with the depth gauge of this particular model.A different depth gauge may solve the problem, but it is not acceptable for a $300+ router made by DeWALT. You will like this router if you are okay with not using the depth gauge. However, I don't recommend it if you need a built-in precise depth gauge.

The plunge locking mechanism did not lock like it was designed to do. Call dewalt, and they advised to send it back

Machine de bonne facture. Bien conçue et puissante. Elle ne pêne pas quelque soit la sorte de bois que l'on travaille ou la taille de la fraise montée. Pas de guide latéral fournis mais on le trouve sur amazone facilement.
