Not the best quality assurance happening with this device.I really like that this model has a plug-in feature, so as to not require a 9v battery. I really want it to work, but I had to use a back up unit, because the first one I received stopped working properly the second time I tried to use it, within only a few days from my box opening and testing it out.My first unit appeared to work when I first tested it out using a diamond ring, then when I went to use it on a stone I had just received a few days later, the audible tone (indicating the stone is a diamond) would not come on. I tried the diamond ring, and nothing. Apparently, the speaker was a one-time use. I returned it for a replacement. When I took out the second unit, I could here something rattling/loose inside. I opened the battery compartment, and a screw dropped out. Wow!Also, the first unit came with a 9v battery, but the 2nd unit did not. Like I said, quality assurance is really absent in the production of this model.

First of all, I despise when a seller uses one listing over and over for different items so they can retain their high reviews.That being said, I purchased this particular diamond tester because I didn't have to mess around with batteries and could just plug it in.I plugged it in, adjusted the size setting and tested it out on my already certified wedding/engagement ring and then a Moissanite ring. Both registered and emitted the noise they were supposed to. Then I readjusted for size and attempted to test several pairs of diamond earrings (from a very well known jewelry store) I have. No reaction at all, no matter what I tried.I then whent back to my wedding set and it wasn't registering anymore, either. I pushed down harder and it finally read, but then stopped again.You get what you pay for, and apparently this one is just too cheap.Returning.

Als wir das Gerät ausprobiert haben, mussten wir leider feststellen, dass die Lupe ihren Zweck nicht erfüllt. Der Gerät selbst ist in Ordnung. Wir wollten diesen Produkt zurück geben, nun leider wurde uns gesagt, dass wir den Rückversand erstmal selber übernehmen müssen. Die Sendung kam aus USA und den Rückversand hätte uns noch 50€ gekostet, von daher haben wir diesen Artikel behalten. Ich wollte den Verkäufer gerne kontaktieren, aber dies ist auch nicht möglich.....
