So I wanted this because even tho it doesn't happen often,but you can be pulled over for dark tint. I wanted matching tint front and back, but staying within the law. This got pretty close. Close enough on multiple samples of different windows on 2 vehicles. So then I decided to try it on a bunch of tint at a friends tinting shop, but was told that you can't measure tint off the windows and get a completely accurate reading as the windows themselves can already have a light tint from the factory. They measure the windows first, then the tint, as they are state regulated and then have to attest to what the windows are rated with a sticker. So while it was a good idea, and I still did it anyway, it was within 1% of the tint as stated by the manufacturer. (Only uses quality tint he said lol). I would have to agree as in nearly 20 years never had purple tint. So if you want to do your own, take all of that into consideration.

Had tint on my car (bought it used) wanted to make sure the inspector would not fail me so I bought this unit to confirm it was legal tint, did the trick. Gave me piece of mind and the car passed inspection. This is a great unit for people that want to follow the laws and not risk a ticket for some darker than needed tint.

I purchased a new car and I figure I give this thing a try. I was wondering how much heat my new ceramic tint really blocks. While testing that I found out that OEM glass that is non laminated blocks quite a big of heat. I was under assumption that OEM glass doesnt block much heat. So unit came pretty handy

This device is about the easiest thing to operate. Power it on, position the sensors over the glass, and hit the power button again to take a measurement. I don't know how accurate it is, but it was reading 20% ceramic tint film at around 17% on multiple samples.

I tested on my car and my husband car which have a darker tinted side window and my car which have a lighter tinted windows and the reading result is very accurate.All and all this is a good device to check your window tint darkness and how much lights comes into my vehicle.So far so good for me and so far i am happy with the product and i recommend this product. Thanks
