TO RESET control panel:
If the controller displays an error message, turn off th smoker, unplug unit from outlet, waitten seconds, plug unit back into outlet, then turn smoker on
TIPS：
- Heating will not begin until timer is set
- Heating will turn off when time has expired
- If the controller displays an error message, reset the controller
- Direct sunlight will affect the reading the LED display. Block the sunlight if necessary

Got the smoker second hand for $30 on Facebook marketplace. Seemed to work ok for several months. But my separate probe temperature never seemed to match the Masterbuilt temperature on the control panel. Didn't think much of it and just cranked up the heat on the Masterbuilt to match the probe. So I figured it was a little off. Went to start it up last week and the digital display was totally fried. I couldn't even make out the time or temperature. Ordered one of these, took literally one minute to change out. Not only is the temperature accurate to the separate probe now, but the unit heats up REAL fast. MUCH faster than before. So for $40 plus the $25 for this, a great investment and still much cheaper than a new unit. If you're having problems with your Masterbuilt, pick up one of these.

I replaced the original with this one after the cover blew off and it got wet. Upgraded the cover. Sealed this one before installation with liquid electrical seal. Never got wet, however the temp buttons began to malfunction on their own and now the temp cannot be set. Here I am with a ready to go whole hen all stuffed and ready, planning to feed the family tonight, and I'm baking it instead. Bought another one outside of the warranty window. If this one fails, I will seek an alternative. The price is great, but not for 60 days of use. Yes, I use this daily, but it should make a season....

I hadn't been covering my smoker and it has been out in the weather. My control panel shorted out.This new control panel was well priced and simple to install! Works just like the original one.
