Bought this controller to replace my old Bbq075 3 setting controller. After installing the new controller my grill was cooking way to hot as some others here have complained about in the reviews so after a little time searching on the internet I figured out I need to change the P settings... This controller at first glance does not have the P setting button located beside the LCD as other controllers do so I thought I was stuck without adjustment. I decided to remove the controller and take a peek to see if there was another way to adjust and sure enough the P setting button was installed on the board but they just didn't drill the hole in the front housing to access it. After pressing the P set button I found that it was set from the factory at P-0 which is the hottest setting according to Treager. I changed my setting to P-4 and the temperature is running within 5 degrees of my temp settings, perfect.

It is plug and play, so it's simple to install. Just take your time and use the correct tools. You'll need a mini flathead screwdriver for the thermometer. One note, make sure that the wires are all away from the 2 fans inside before startup. Zip ties needed. This works perfectly as intended.

Could not turn the screws on the thermostat connection block. Bent a screwdriver blade and twisted the block a little. Soldered the connections and installed the new controller.Asked for 225, got it and started cycling to maintain the temperature.Then goes into error in 10-15 minutes. Was clearing but now not.Also errored asking for 250 degrees.Going to reinstall the old board and see if I get an error.

This looks exactly like the OEM traeger PID controller. Attached an image that had a distinguishing feature, but didn’t look into it because I went another way. I bought 5 controllers and this was my second place. Liked the PID button on the outside (adjusts the pellet feed idle, if you will) so you will be able to fine tune the temperature if it is lower or higher than it’s supposed to. I never used this, but if the Ortech controller didn’t exist, I would have kept this one. Ultimatelyu, I decided I wanted to go with the ortech over this because ortech assembled it in America, (fit and finish on this controller was good, but not as good as the ortech) it wasn’t as clean as the ortech, and it didn’t come with the wide spread reviews across forums and Reddit. This was cheaper by $10, and came with temperature probes for meat, so it had that feature over the ortech, but I wanted peace of mind with my 15 year old third hand traeger.

Its a nice product. I use mine as a smoker every weekend and a grill several times a week and its works well and still going. Its temp control is pretty accurate and holds temp.

Works but is not the same. Temp runs hot even with adjustments to the P setting.

Looks identical to original, installation was fairly easy. Not happy at all with quality. Bought one last august and didn’t last 1 year. Second attempt at this.
