I bought this to be used with my small pet project. The measurements are accurate. Have to use it for a while to see the reliability.

The device turns on but it doesn’t do anything else, I tried reseating the battery and it still does the same thing.

When I ordered the Precision Peak micrometer there was some confusion in the listing as to whether I was going to receive the micrometer or calipers. This confusion no longer exists and this micrometer, the tool I actually wanted, was well worth taking the chance and placing the order. The micrometer is supplied in a plastic storage / protective case and includes a well written instruction sheet supplied in English only. The battery installed in the micrometer is a “test†only battery – it was used at the factory to test function & accuracy and is a limited-power battery. Precision Peak also supplies a new full power CR1632 battery to replace the test battery. The parts of the micrometer that perform the physical measuring are constructed of Stainless Steel for accuracy. Much of the rest of the tool appears to be made of plastic, and even being partially plastic the tool feels solid. The accuracy of the tool I received seems to be exceedingly good as it accurately measured my brand new set of feeler gauges once I discovered that the best accuracy is to run the tool back to zero and zero the digital display after each measurement. Multiple sequential measurements without zeroing the micrometer between them produced less accurate results.I’m a home hobbyist, not a machinist, but the instruction manual appears to be well written and complete to me. The certificate of conforming to the traceable National standards suggests a higher quality tool than the price suggests, and from my testing, that certainly appears to be true.I am so impressed with this micrometer that I would rate it higher than 5 stars if that was an option.

I have been quite impressed with this micrometer. It is very nice considering the price and comes with a case and extra battery. Using it is very intuitive and most people should be able to figure out how to use it without reading the manual. I'm no expert, but as far as I can tell, it is very accurate. I'm able to get the same measurement on items across multiple days and the readings on this line up with my other set of calipers. The micrometer style of calipers somewhat limits the applications compared to calipers but the micrometer should be much more accurate. So far, I've been very impressed with these. The storage case is really nice too and low profile. Overall, these are some very good budget micrometers. Its easy to use and feels well made. Most of it is made from metal and it has a hefty feel. 10/10 highly recommend this for household use. If you use a micrometer professionally, you might want to consider a more reputable brand. But I can't find any issues with this micrometer.

The Amazon description shows this micrometer works from zero to 6 inches. The actual pictures show the micrometer works from 0 to 25 mm or basically 1 inch.It does a great job measuring small things and pretty much matches my old non digital micrometer. I am just disappointed that it does not go out to 6 inches so the uses are rather limited.

I use precision tools at home and on the job regularly so when I saw this micrometer come up so cheap, I had to see if it was worth it.Short answer, yes it is.This is an accurate micrometer. Far more accurate than I expected it to be for the price. I used my gauge block set to test the accuracy of this micrometer and it was spot on. My set is calibrated and the micrometer read it to within its rated accuracy. The main body is cast iron. It is carbide tipped. The friction feed on the large spindle works to reliably measure, but like most micrometers, you really need a feel for it to get more accuracy. Flat vs curved surface pressure etc. What I didn't like:The number of turns I had to do to get from one size to another. This one seems to take more turns than most I am used to. That may also explain the accuracy of it.That's it. That was my one issue with it. I can live with that given how accurate it is.For less than $20 I'm surprised that I can find an instrument that is this accurate. It's a bargain.Handy for more risky jobs when you don't want to take the $400+ unit out.In that respect, it makes this a better product. I'm more willing to use it than the expensive tools.Recommended.

Turns on, but rotation does no change the indicator, only reads 0. Changed to the spare battery provided, same happens.
