OK, so what did I expect for that price? What I hoped for was a device that used some smarts. Like determining the average energy to maintain the temperature and then supplying that energy. It has a little of this, but it's not sophisticated.

I found this controller to work perfectly fine. All the connection instructions you need are on the side of the unit and the instructions that come with it are perfectly adequate. I didn't use the TC it came with so can't speak to that, I have other K-type's. I tested it on a kegerator for cooling and a fermentation vessel for heating and it performed great at both. I think some negative users simply don't know how a Temp Controller functions.

Lack of mounting screws, pv setpoint reads 000, no thermal paste. Instructions were horrible, if haven't had experience with pids beware of this one. O by the way i missed the return window.

This is a fire hazard and is not suitable for use with 40A - use at your own risk!The images of the item on amazon include several images of a Fotek Solid State Relay (SSR-40 DA) which is supposed to be supplied as part of this item.The SSR that is actually supplied has a sticker claiming it is a Good.I SSR-40 DA, however when I peeled that sticker off, it had a sticker under it stating that it was actually a SSR-25 DA. I tried to disassemble the SSR to see what the rating of the TRIAC was but unfortunately the internals were covered with epoxy.The PID supplied also was also a Good.i branded "REX-C100FK02-V*AN" controller - I'm unsure how the PID controller will perform.
