I love Needle Felting, and its been part of my life for several years. I have been looking for a comfortable, safe needle-holding tool because my hands become sore and stiff sometimes just working the needle alone. I found this product on Amazon, and I must say it is an impressive item for the price. It comes with a needle included and a sturdy cap, which is excellent protection for me and for the housed needle. (You can replace the needle, and the product comes with complete instructions on how to do this. Save the card for future reference!) This device has a purple, ridged grip zone, making for safer and secure holding while you work on your project. I like this, and I am able to comfortably navigate my project without the strain / discomfort of pinching a single needle.Helpful hints:Be aware that the safety cap fits snugly on the device, and I believe that is intentional for protection. If you turn the cap in one direction, you will unscrew the needle housing. (This is the first step if you need to replace the needle.) To remove the cap, you can pull it straight off, but be mindful where your hand is because if you do it too sharply you can poke yourself. For me, I have found that a soft, slow twist in the opposite direction as the "remove needle" direction helps to slid the cap away carefully. With any needle felting tool, make sure you are focused and attentive to what you are doing or trying to accomplish. Also, remember felting needles can snap if they are angled or bent while working. Be sure to follow the advice on the card for using this tool.I recommend this device if you like to do faces, heads, hands, and other fine detail work. This device can be used with a needle felting mat or a foam block. / If you allow your children to do needle felting, you should supervise them as this, "a functioning sharp point," could be a dangerous tool if mishandled or misused.

I have kept all the brushed out under-coat from my old Chow-mix dogs and now that they have passed on I want a keepsake to remember them by so I ordered this little device to felt the dog undercoat into a little blanket. It works very well but it does take a lot of time to make a small sized blanket. A bigger one would work better for this project. Watch out for your fingers tho, not a toy for young kids. I punctured my finger once and learned to keep them out of harms way pretty fast. Good for adults to use and makes a nice felt object with ease if a little time consuming. I love my little dog keepsake I made. I plan to use it again for other projects.

I loved the handle it fits great. It's short for my short fingers and the grip feels good to use while felting. However in changing the gage I noticed that none of the needles I currently own that fit just fine in the wood handles, will not fit because it's so short. And the one pack that I can find from this company comes only in 2 gages and you can only get a 6 pack. I have 20 of each gage of my other needles. I dont think I'll be using this no matter how much I want to. It's just not cost effective.

This tool can be used also for rooting hair on vinyl reborn dolls..But be careful. With too much pressure the needle will break. It broke on me during rooting the hair. This is a good tool with a very comfy ergonomic grip which feels great in your hands. I started to love it until the needle broke. So my advice to all the potential customers that are thinking about using this needle for rooting hair on vinyl reborn dolls..I recommend this tool only if you buy lots of backup replacement needles. This is my favorite felting tool. It's so comfortable to hold I can felt for hours without my hand hurting. It's so much better than the wooden handles that come in felting kits.
