Allows you to cut the bread to the thickness you would like. Sturdy product.

I make my own bread, it fits great in this but the design of the thing is very disappointing. The wooden parts are hard to move and get stuck all the time. The metal slots for the knife (the part I liked the most) moves when you're cutting stuff and just dont stay put. Just a bummer

I've been purchasing bread from local farmers markets. The bread mostly does not come pre sliced. I had been considering a bread slicer for more even slices.I opted for this one as it seemed to have everything I was looking for.I used it for the first time today. The loaves I sliced are not consistent rectangular shapes. That made the sides that hold the bread a little more difficult to work with as I was having to adjust as I went. But still very manageable for the even slices. The part that aggravated me the most was the knife guides. They are great. However the do not stay up. They kept leaning forward. Maybe this is partial due to the bread not being a consistent shape.Overall I do like it and would recommend the product.I sliced four loves (two soft, two crusty) in about half an hour (that also included bagging and labeling them).

the thickness adjuster won't let me get as thin as I'd prefer. their "thin" setting is = to the thickest sliced bread I've ever had! so I'm forced to use this without that feature. it is a little wobbly and it would be nice if the bars just locked into place, it can be a chore trying to fold up to put away. Also it looks like 2 of the glued seems on the bottom, where the bread goes, either didn't get glued or have already split apart. I hadn't even used it yet, I had just washed it before use and saw that after...I'm not sure it's worth the price in the end

When I attempt to move the metal prongs to cut a half inch or thin slice I'm not able to move the slicer by tightening or untightening the adjuster on the back of the slicer. Also, one other item that I saw that seemed really cool would be the fact that this system would catch all the crumbs when slicking, not true. Crumbs all over the counter. Now, it does catch some of the crumbs, about 1/3 of them. the one thing I do like about this product is the overall sturdiness of the product.

We tried several bread slicing kits. This is the only one we were willing to keep. Make sure you have a LONG bread knife and you will be set to have perfect slices every day!

This device complicates what should be a simple process. It's so ineffective we never use it. We should have returned it. I built a bread slicer with 3 small pieces of Poplar that cost $5 and works10x better than this piece of junk.Do not waste your money on this!

This bread slicer is amazing! The adjustable thickness of the bread slices is a game changer! I love that I can do thin slices for sandwiches and then thick slices for toast. The magnetic knife holder on top of the knife slots is super helpful as well. It’s easy to clean, light weight, and well built. The customer service is also impeccable. I had an issue with the first slicer I received and they immediately emailed me and sent me a new one! Mitch was so helpful and kind through the whole process. Two changes I would make would be to put some kind of non slip material on the bottom and extend where the bread slices fall so you don’t have to remove them each time you cut. However, that is a personal preference and neither one is a deal breaker; I still absolutely choose this bread slicer over others I’ve tried.

Fast and easy to assemble, folds up for storage.Cuts the bread straight even when it's warm.Easy to adjust thickness and with the guide different width of breads can be sliced.Made of natural bamboo, nicely sanded. I don't find it too heavy, just sturdy and stable.Overall it is the best bread slicer that I ever had.

Adjustment knob keeps falling off. The part that slides across the board that holds the bread doesn’t stay parallel. Bread doesn’t always slice very straight, often thicker at the top than the bottom.

4 out of 5 Stars (4)⭐⭐⭐⭐[TL;DR][QUALITY] (4/5)[VALUE] (4/5)[EASE OF USE] (2/5)[MET EXPECTATIONS] (5/5)[PACKAGING] (5/5)[REVIEW REMARKS]I am of two minds on this bread cutting board/slicer. As such, here are the Pros and Cons as my family has experienced them:PROS:- This bread board is very impressive looking, made out of solid bamboo with steel slicing guides. It is attractive enough to even be left out on the counter in the kitchen somewhere as a usable interest item.- It is extremely sturdy and well built. I absolutely love the fact that the board does not wiggle around while I try to cut bread on it.- The brass coloured guides are tall enough to handle loaves made in our bread machine. This is the first bread slicer that has been able to do this.- Speaking of firsts, this is the first bread slicer we have had that can handle both a round loaf like Irish soda bread, and a long, thin loaf like a baguette. Most of the slicers we have had are not wide enough for rounds. This versatility is really appreciated.- The crumb tray on this slicer is very deep when compared to other slicers we have tried.- This is also the first slicer we have had that has magnets at the top of the guides to hold your bread knife between slices. At first I thought we would never use this feature, now it is second nature to let the magnets hold the knife while we prep the slices.- You can easily vary the thickness of the slice with a turn of a knob.- The bamboo cutting board potion does not easily slice so you do not need to worry about knife marks marring the wood.CONS:- The slicer is fairly heavy so if you do not have the space to leave it out on the counter, you may find it awkward to keep storing it.- The guides fold down for a lower profile on the board. While this is a great feature, unfortunately, they fold under the cutting board portion between it and the crumb tray. Again, you will need to keep lifting up a portion of it to use and store.- The slicer works best on bread items with a tight crumb formation. Most store bought breads meet this feature however, some homemade loaves may have a looser crumb would be best sliced by freehand.- There is no back block to hold the back end of the loaf. This is not an issue when you have an almost full loaf of bread as you can angle the side rail to hold the loaf. When you get down to the bottom heel of the loaf however, there really needs to be something you can butt up to the back crust to hold it while you cut. We do not use this slicing board when we are cutting the end of a loaf.- With the above point, this slicer works best for bread but, if you have a tight crumb bun/bagel/mini-loaf, you can use this slicer by placing pressure on the back end of the item. To ensure the safety of my fingers, I used the block guide from my mandolin slicer.- Following that point, if the manufacturer included some form of block guide for the back of the item being sliced to rest against, and protect the slicer's fingers and hand, I could give this bread board another star.- When storing the slicer, you will need a fair bit of space to put it away in as it is rather large.Final Thoughts:- The manufacturer has thoughtfully included a number of recipe cards for feature sandwiches. This is a nice touch.- The care instructions do not mention it but, I would recommend treating all the bamboo features of this slicer with cutting board oil at least every six months. This will ensure the beauty of the board's natural wood does not fade or crack over time.- Lastly, for aesthetics, versatility, and solid build this the best bread slicing board we have had to-date. That said, if you experience issues with upper body mobility or strength, you may be better with another slicer.Recommended but, with cautions for storage, and personal ability. In the event that experiences change or evolve, updates may be made to this review to address such developments.

The side and tray both slide alot. Not worth the cost, until you make it slide less.I fixed mine with shelf liner underneath the tray and a small strip under the adjustable side, both held on by super glue. It cost me 1 foot of a 6 foot roll of liner that cost $2.⁰⁰ at the dollar store. And a bit of super from the dollar store. All tallied up it was less then $1.⁰⁰ total. But could be done by manufacturer for cheaper still.

Wow, this bread slicer has me conflicted! The attention to detail and quality of this thing is truly unparalleled. This is a truly great bread slicer; you put your bread knife into the guide rods, and there are magnets at the top to hold it in place. Wow. The value here is pretty high, the wood is pleasantly sanded, and beautifully jointed together. On the other hand? This adds training wheels to a bread knife, at a cost of $59.99 at time of review. And it takes up space in your kitchen, when it's not clear that it offers so many advantages over a bread-knife alone.I think this is obviously for someone who makes a lot of artisanal, home made bread, and has the room to store this. We're a busy house hold, and though we do make home made bread, this probably is overkill for us.I'll keep it around a few days and see if my opinion changes.
