I can't say anything about the longevity of this item as I have not owned it long but it has done wonders for my back already. Its in my computer chair and I use it for several hours every single day. Its helped my back pain a great deal.I recently bought a new chair and while the chair is very nice and sturdy, its just too big for me (I'm rather short). This cushion solved the problem and made this oversized chair completely ergonomic for me.Another good thing about it is the strap. I suffer from sciatica and coccydynia so there are times I need this back rest up a little higher so I can use my coccyx cushion on the bottom of my chair. I need the back rest lowered again when I'm not using that cushion. All I have to do to adjust this back rest is one quick tug in one direction or the other according to my needs and it stays in place even when raised. Simple, effective and comfortable.

I was surprised that the quality is as good as it is. The elastic strap fits my big office chair and holds it in place. It takes a bit of getting used to because it is bigger than I thought it would be, so it’s not for light support, but it does help with low back pain and helps prevent me from slumping and slouching and hunching over, which is exactly what I bought it for.

I ordered this back rest along with an orthopedic seat cushion after I a hiking accident that caused a knee injury and triggered sciatic nerve pain. I'm very happy with my purchase. The back rest comes with an elastic strap attached to the back that hooks over your chair and holds it in place. It took a few times of adjusting to find the perfect spot for my back. With the combination of the Coccyx seat cushion and this back cushion, I now have a lot of relief from sciatic nerve pain. I was hoping it would provide some sciatic nerve pain relief but it has done much more then that. I have a tendency to slouch forward over the keyboard since my office chair has no lumbar support. I noticed immediately that it changed my posture. I now find I sit straight up with my back pushed up against the support and it feels wonderful. I no longer get the ache in my back as I did before. I have decided that once my knee is healed and my sciatica eases up I will still use this every day. It's now a permanent fixture on my chair. I will be purchasing another one to set in my recliner too!

This support cushion is firm. If you are looking for a soft pillow this is not for you. I found it to be quite supportive in the office chair I use when I work at home. The chair is large and has a high back. The elastic strap just barely fits around the back of this chair. Perhaps an adjustable elastic strap would be a better idea for the manufacturer of this cushion.I needed something that would actually provide more support in this chair and push me forward and straighter. It does that. It is made with a white urethane dense foam and has a backer board inside also, so its firm. The cover zips off. For some reason mine came with the gray cover looking like it had been squashed into a bag (very wrinkled) prior to placing it on the cushion. Someone else mentioned an odor. Mine had a mild odor that was not bothersome. After 2 days it is already quickly fading.Two months later, I am still using this and it totally works for me. I don't even think about it being there anymore when I sit down. It is just a part of my chair now.

I bought this pillow because I suffer from severe back pain, especially when I am sitting in the same position for a very long time. I bought it specifically for my car when driving long distances. Since I have an older car, my seats are not very ergonomic. The pillow works well in supporting the lumbar region. However, I don't use it too often while driving because it feels a bit bulky. I only use it when my lower back becomes severely painful and uncomfortable. Due to the way the seats are constructed in my car, if I am sitting with this pillow behind my back, then I cannot relax my upper back, shoulders, neck, and head against the seat. This compounds my pain instead of easing it. Also, I cannot strap this pillow to the seat in my car. That is not an issue for me personally. However, the shape and size of a car seat makes it impossible to strap in.This pillow is better suited for use with non-ergonomic office chairs, patio chairs, dining table chairs, and the like. In these circumstances, it offers the proper support while allowing you to relax your upper back as well. A side benefit of this pillow is that it corrects your posture.

About a year ago, I starting doing some serious strength training. As a result, my weight has increased by about 40 pounds, even though my body fat has decreased. Weight training itself can cause my back to feel a little sore, but the extra 40 pounds of weight I'm carrying around, even though it's muscle, also has taken a toll on my back, especially when sitting. I began to notice that my lower back would kill me after sitting for more than about an hour in my office chair. After 8-9 hours, my lower body was in complete agony.I was actually recommended by another lifter to get a back cushion like this one for whenever I'm sitting for extended periods of time. One problem with a lot of these back cushions is that they lose their cushioning over time, especially for heavier individuals. I'm 240 pounds, and after a couple months of heavy use, this product still retains all its cushioning.The product really takes some getting used to. It actually felt awkward and a little uncomfortable at first. But after a few hours, I got used to it, and after sitting for more than 8 hours, I noticed I had almost no back pain. I just bought a second one of these, one for the recliner chair I sit in at home.It should be noted that, even with this product, it's still a good practice to get up and move around at least once an hour, even if it's just for a minute or two.

Got it at a steal at SGD22.24. Just received it and it feels pretty firm. I like the support. I was fearful after reading comments here about the short wooden board but it’s just at most 3 inches off the total height of the cushions. Does not affect the support imho.Only con I can think of if I want to be picky is the grey color is more like dark grey rather than light grey in the picture. No fault of Amazon or seller as I believe it’s because the fabric is very reflective
