Logan Whistles
Dog Training whistles for all breeds
Logan Whistles were originally designed by the Logan Family in the UK for their working dogs. They were Harford Logan's 'secret weapon' in helping him communicate with his dogs to win seven national Championships. There is now a full range of Logan 'sheepdog' whistles available - brass, stainless steel, lightweight alloy and non-metallic Delrin - and the tones they can create are suitable for training all working dogs or as an excellent recall whistle for pets. They are especially effective as dogs like and react well to the tones. Each of us creates a different sound using the same whistle so your 'voice' is unique and easily recognised by your dog resulting in faster reactions as they know for sure that it is you that is asking them for a trained response. How to Use a Logan Whistle
Positioning it correctly in the mouth
The whistle sits against (not on) the tongue, tones created by air flowing through the top and bottom holes and out the slot at the front. Any side can be on top.
Seal the back of the whistle by pushing it against the tongue while at the same time pushing the whistle with the tongue. Allow your lips to fall around the edge and seal the edges taking care not to block the bottom air hole or slot.
Creating Tone variations
Breathe from your chest to send a blade of air through the whistle and out from the slot at the front.
Notice how your tongue moves when you try to whistle a tune; the action is instinctive and so will creating different tones with your Logan Whistle. Breathing down through the whistle gives lower tones; upwards sharper tones.
Use the whistle command first then the voice command the whistle tone replaces. Very soon the dog will respond to the whistle tone alone. Use a consistent tone for each command. Practice out of the dog's hearing.

Great whistle. Loud, clear tone. My dog responds well to it. Wasn’t hard to learn after watching a YouTube video. I think it is pretty over priced and I probably would have been just as happy with a plastic one but I don’t regret buying it.

This Logan A1 Sheep Dog Whistle is the best thing I have found for working my dogs at long distance on cattle,1/4 mile and sometimes more. no worries of breaking it.

Quality product, but you are probably not going to open the package and know how to use it. Expensive whistle and my husband has had it for a month and has only gotten it to squeak once. I hope he can figure it out because it was pricey. Looking forward to using it with our Aussies.

Wow. This whistle rocks. I’ve been using other cheaper whistles, they worked fine. This whistle works amazing. You can hear the precision. I had it for two minutes and was able to mimic birds. I don’t even train dogs, I just love whistles. Currently own four of these. I can play just about any song on this thing. If you can’t make a sound it’s you not the whistle. Just practice.

Very good quality whistle. It takes some practice, but it really didn't take that long to learn to blow. I have not mastered being able to blow consistently, but I have only had it one day.

Love it, sounds better than the cheaper ones, easier to use, love the color. To me its worth the price for the sound, the color and its made better. I'm still learning how to use but using the Logan whistle makes me feel that getting more consistent on the sound. Excellent product.
