I installed these, one for my front door and the other the back door. It's an older house and the one door has a tendency to want to swing closed by itself, all the while sounding like something out of a horror movie. Sure, I could adjust the hinges and spray some WD40 on them but, I'd lose the character of the old house charm! But seriously, these work just as advertised. I can open the door, and the magnetic striker catches the door perfectly and hold it in place so that we can enjoy the light coming in from the storm door. When the front door is opened all the way its position does not allow it to open to the point that it is flat or parallel with the wall. Even so, the striker plate with the magnetic holder holds the door open perfectly. These are very easy to install, providing the option to use either 2-way adhesive strips which are cut to the dimensions of the two pieces or you can use screws. I used the adhesive strips, which I think are 3M, don't hold me to that. and they hold fine. The look nice and feel like good overall qualify. I would recommend these if you need something like this.

Magnetic Door Stop: $11.98 at the time of reviewSo, a doorstop is not usually the kind of thing that I would write a review for. I mean, they either work, or they don't, right? On top of that, as of the time that I'm writing this review, there are over 800 ratings on this doorstop. All of that having been said, though, I was impressed enough with this doorstop to want to write a review. So here we go.I'm gonna be honest, I don't really have anything negative to say about this. So it's just going to be a list of things that I liked. First and foremost, this convenient kit for a really reasonable price (only about $12 bucks at the time of review) comes with everything you'll need to get it installed in about five to ten minutes. You have the doorstop, the magnetic plate (for attaching to the door), two adhesive pads, screws, and even drywall anchors. And speaking of installation, it really was super quick. I was a little skeptical, but I opted for the adhesive pads in Lou of using screws. I didn't feel good about putting holes into my baseboard and door. I figured in a worst-case scenario, I might have to do that anyhow, if the adhesive didn't work. That being said, the adhesive, works. I mean, like, it really WORKS. I follow the basic rule of attaching long-term adhesive to something: use a moderate amount of pressure for about 30 to 60 seconds once you've placed the adhesive down on the surfaces do you want to adhere. To make sure the magnetic strike plate and doorstop lined up, I just put the adhesive on each end (where it belongs), then attached the strike plate to the magnet as it normally would in use. Then I lined it up, where I wanted it, and pushed the door against it. The end result was a perfectly lined up doorstop. And I didn’t even have to drill anything! As of this review, I've had this doorstop installed for just under three months. The magnets are really strong, and the adhesive is showing no signs of weakening. This thing has been great. This is a super easy five stars out of five for me. I totally order this over again. In fact, I might do just that as there is another door in our house that needs a doorstop replaced.

Works great. Had to use the screws because the adhesive wouldn’t hold. Replaced an ugly and difficult wedge styled door stopper. It looks nice and is so convenient.

It looks great and works great! I would recommend it. I’m using it in the bathroom and perhaps the humidity from the shower decreased the stickiness of the glue. I ended up using the screws to attach it which was very easy to do and of course quite effective in keeping it in place:)

Was hesitant to use stickers to attach, but they held it great, so no need to screw into the metal door or the wall. Very strong, holds the door firmly mother in laws walker and a gentle pull releases it from magnet!ðŸ‘ðŸ»

I was a little hesitant to purchase these. I was worried about the durability of the sticky tape adhesive and how well it would stand up to the pressure of separating a strong magnetic seal. My fears were unfounded.BOTTOM LINE:Many reviewers mentioned how strong the magnetic connection is between the two pieces. And it is strong. I was worried that repeatedly breaking that connection would put stress on the adhesives and cause them to peel away. I read that adding a few layers of tape between the magnets makes it easier to break the seal. While that is true, I’ve found it to be unnecessary. The magnetic seal is very strong when you’re holding the pieces and trying to separate them. But when they’re installed and you’re breaking the magnetic seal by pulling on the doorknob, the seal is much easier to break. The torque being applied to the adhesive pads is much lighter because it’s not being applied directly.MY USE CASES:I have two basement doors that won’t stay open. One is a hollow core door into a small office. I’ve been using a slide-in door stop but I really dislike having to bend down and remove it from under the door. And that style doesn’t protect my newly finished walls from the doorknob. So I was looking for something that would hold the door open but be easy to stop holding the door open 😉 and protect the wall from the door handle. It was also important that the solution not hold the door open too wide (narrow door into small room) and not require me to drill a hole into my new LVP floors. This door stop is just the ticket!I used the adhesive to affix both sides of this doorstop. I put the small end on the floor and the longer arm on the door. This placement maximizes the door opening space yet still protects the wall from door handle damage. This should also minimize any structural damage if I ever decide I no longer want a doorstop there. My second door is a solid 6-panel door into a walk-in closet. It is placed much further from the wall than the previously mentioned door so it swings open wider and meets the wall at an acute angle. I didn’t want the space behind the door to be unusable (nothing long poking out from the baseboard or stuck to the floor. I also didn’t want a metal arm sticking out of the bottom of the door where it might hit someone or something. So I’ve decided to place this doorstop at the top of the door. Here the longer piece will be at the top of the door, safely out of the way. And the short end will be high on the wall just a few inches from the curtains and barely noticeable. I’ll be using wood screws and drywall anchors to install that doorstop set as soon as the walls and door are ready. The one minor issue I experienced with the adhesive pads is that you must be very, very precise when applying them to the door stop pieces because you can’t realign them. Even then, it seems impossible to get them exactly placed.

The magnet is strong and the adhesive round fasteners hold beautifully. There was not even a need to screw the magnet in. Wonderful product

Ease of use, used the 3m sticky pads only. They supply necessary hardware if you were anchoring into wood versus drywall.
