Works perfect...Get some water boiling in a cup,put the white bushing in the hot water, let it sit, take bushing out and install same with clear bushing.White bushing is for the interior shifter cable, clear bushing is for cable to transmission gear select.

These bushings are just what you need to repair dried out and broken/missing factory items. Easily installed using simple hand tools. Half the cost of what you would pay at your'e local auto parts store.

When I installed this in my 2003 Chevy Cavalier it took a bit of doing but I got it in. Then I realized my shift cable broke on both ends, on the front (connected to the transmission) and on the back (connected to the shifter). So I used the other bushing only to find out it was too flimsy and if I shift, it would just stretch the bushing. The first bushing did it's job however the other one was useless.

I used this to fix my 2003 Cavalier. The larger one is the one I needed to reconnect the linkage cable to the shifter. It was a small pain because I didn't know exactly how to get to everything.1) remove 2 nuts connecting to the brake booster2) remove the other two bolts so that the assembly comes loose.3) remove the vertical nut holding on the linkage assembly4) remove the horizontal bolt connecting the linkage assembly5) use a large flat head screwdriver to destroy the rest of the bushing in the cable and scrape it out6) use a small c-clamp shoved down in there to connect the bushing to the cable7) use the c-clamp to connect the cable to the shifter (a lot easier than previes step)8) reconnect everythingThere will be a good bit of play in the cable once it is reconnected, this is proper. You have to move the shifter all the way foward to see the vertical nut that holds the linkage assembly on.I was not able to disconnect the electronics under the linkage assembly so I used the c-clamp shoved down into everything to get the bushing in It would be better to pull the whole cable out from under the hood simply be the 1 extra step of removing the elecrical connector on the bottom of it if you have the balls to try and disconnect 12 year old plastic.I added 1 wire tie to the linkage cable and shifter just to make sure everything stays connected.I should not I have 0 experience working on cars and only used google and youtube to fix this. It took about 2 hours total and I learned a lot.

Recambio perfecto para Hummer H2 sin tener que cambiar el cable completo, fácil de poner, solo caliéntate con agua caliente.

Used this on the upper end of the cable--works great. I would not recommend this for the lower cable as the heat around the area is very high, right next to the catalytic converter at about 1000 degrees. I used a different more permanent solution--no plastic.

Life saver, it worked perfectly, the other solution was to buy a new cable for double the price.
