Replaced the old corroded DRL socket in a 2006 Sierra. Could have gone cheaper but have had good results with Dorman products before. New socket came with the butt splices included. Gasket isn't the same so it remains to be seen how well it holds up in the desert heat where I live. DRL now works again.

Perfect fit into the DRL housings for my 2000 GMC Sierra (new body style, not classic) K1500 ... both L & R were brittle from heat overload, also bought a couple of LED replacements so these should not suffer the heat issue in the future. The DRL's are just two-wire like this, some of the other bulb sockets (signals, brake lights, etc) are 3-wire for multiple operation, but I didn't have heat-stroke on those, so still have OEM in those slots. These were easy to wire & snap in securely.

I bought a pair of off brand ones and one was broken... but I learnt something from figuring out why. I prefer the OEM parts but they are a bit pricey so I decided on getting the Dorman part since I needed only one. The parts are interchangeable with OEM, Dorman, and the offbrand ones .Yeah... I took it apart because the junky ones I bought were a learning opportunity. Basically there are 2 small tabs on the sides that hold the inner part in. Take it apart and the wires can be pulled out. Practice on the original one still in your truck to figure it out. Do at your own risk, if you are careful it works... otherwise you break your new one.Buy the Dorman part, avoid all those cheaper ones.
