The first one arrived with a slight defect the way it was crimped together. Amazon replaced it with express service. It fits with exactly the same mounting holes and was a simple a replacement as it looks like it should be fromt he picture. I woudl purchase this again.

Preface: I think this is the first one star rating I've ever given a product review on Amazon out of many I've done over the years. After reading the poor reviews about this switch I thought how bad can they be? I needed to replace a bad switch in our Winnebago Class A motorhome and this looked like a perfect match (and it was physically and electrically) so just to cover my bases I ordered two switches just in case. Installed one switch and it seemed to work okay for a couple of mechanical cycles of the push button. Then it became intermittent. So I replace this Dorman switch with the other new one and it was intermittent also - that's a 100% failure rate. Unbelievable. I previously took a couple of my old switches (identical to this Dorman product) apart that failed and I got one of them mostly working. Old switch number two was a little different design that was a *complete* engineering failure from the beginning. There were two contact arms that would come together when the button was released - a plastic tab pulls out from the contact arms allowing contact. Problem is the contact points would eventually oxidize and build up resistance and when the switch was operated (contact arms touching each other) there was heat generated due to the resistance of the contact points. Then after a period of time with the switch operated and heat being generated, the arms would lose their temper (or the ability to stay firmly closed) which further generated more heat due to increased resistance. It's a cycle of ultimate destruction of the switch. Garbage design, garbage manufacturing for *all* of these similar switches at this price point.I'm going to kludge together a magnetically operated switch from a reed relay and a little round magnet. Reed relays have their issues as well in the long haul but it will be 1,000 times better than these disasters.

I used this door jamb switch to add a switch for the dome light on the door of a 1981 International 1854. Works perfect for my use. I had to step out of from the door jamb to make contact, I'll replace the nuts and washers used to hold it out with a ⅝" thick piece of HDPE jig stock for permanent installation. I have since ordered a second door jamb switch, and may purchase a few more to have on hand.

This worked to replace a similar switch on my RV. It’s kind of cheaply built but considerably less expensive than the name brand counterparts

This is what came up for my search... I was looking for a pantry door jam switch in my home. This was ordered and hung on to until the project began. Once we started the project, it was realized that this is not for household use! Possibly used in a car, maybe a camper??? It is not rated for use with 110v wiring. Very disappointing and a complete waste of money, since the purchase was made in advance of the project starting date. GRRR. I hate when a specific search comes up with junk items that were never intended for use in within the set parameters.

it was rather easy to replace (was in closet of our RV). Replaced with exact same model. Connected both wires and screwed it in. No issues.

As other reviewers have reported, the switch I received didn't work upon arrival. The switch only momentarily worked (lit dome light) while wiggling the switch. Since it was relatively inexpensive and I couldn't find another direct replacement, I opted to take it apart to see if it could be fixed.I found that the contact wipers were too loose to apply pressure on the sliding contact (pushed in by button plunger), thus, no connection was made. I squeezed the wipers together to increase the pressure (and added dielectric grease) and reassembled. It now works but who knows for how long. This appears to be a manufacturing problem and as many complaints as there have been, Dorman needs to follow up with it's manufacturer.

I had to buy a second one, as the first did not work at all and the second has lasted only three month. Definitely not worth the money.

Used these for my secuity switch when you open the door to my sea containers. Works just like the switch when you open your car door and the dome light comes on.

The switch operates smoothly and fit well in the existing hole. Would have preferred spade connections over the screw ones, but was not a big problem.
