Works only for knives, but not for drill bits because there is a factory gap between the two wheels and this stops the drill bit from beeing sharpened at the tip.

Our robotics team uses a lot of smaller drill bits, from 1/16th inch to 1/4 inch diameter. I have tried to resharpen bits on our full-sized grinding wheel, but it is tough to get the angles correct. This tool, with 3 different bit holder for smaller sized bits, solves that problem. The grinding wheels are not solid stone like a bench grinder, but more like abrasive discs you’d get with a rotary tool. That means they have some flex and wobble. I thought it would be a detriment, but it actually works out to be more forgiving! Setting the fixture up and holding everything in place while operating my drill as the power source required either 2 people, or a vice at an odd angle as shown in the first photo. It works, though, and offers consistent sharpening at the right angle. See the beginning of my sharpening process in photo 2, about 30 seconds in to a 2-minute sharpening session. Improvements would be a better support system, either with flats for a vice or its own support base.

I've been using this a lot recently. My drills dull and once that happens they are practically worthless. This sharpener puts a tip on again and allows the drill to be effective. Easy to use, and well worth the time investment to keep your drills sharp.
