I hate to sound dramatic but this is the very first color wheel that has ever made sense to me, and I've seen a lot! It has changed my quilting life- made it so much easier and i also use it for art work!

Honestly, I don’t really understand the whole “complimentary colors†thing, or how to use this color wheel. All I know for sure is that my quilter wife loves it.

Dritz Quilting Rainbow Color Wheel Selector at only 5" wide is very portable. You can take it with you whenever you have color choices to make.It includes a pamphlet explaining all about colors (color theory), color values, color proportion & color combinations, such as:Complementary, Triad, Split Complement, Rectangular Tetrad, Square Tetrad, Analogous, & Monochromatic.There's even more useful information about using color packed into the Color Sense pamphlet which is written in 3 different languages, English, Spanish & French.I originally purchased this color wheel several years ago & wanted to buy a 2nd one for a gift. Dritz is selling this now, back then it was a different company. A few packaging changes have been made, but this Dritz wheel is the same Pick, Point & Match Rainbow color selector & still includes the Color Sense instructional manual which has proven very useful to me through the years.I use the color wheel for making more informed color choices for my crochet projects & for coloring. I've been coloring since 2008 and crocheting for much, much, much longer. I really, really like the Rainbow Color Wheel & the instructional pamphlet which taught me how colors work together.Great product. You'll not only receive a color wheel, you'll learn some color theory too.UPDATE (1/27/17): I recently edited my review because the last two color wheels I purchased did not come with a cardboard envelope storage container (so I removed that info from my review)

I use Pisma and Polychromos color pencils. The colors on this wheel are a bit hard to match to them. They're just not the same tones for color pencils. It's a nice little wheel though. It's about the size of an average size hand. No problems with turning it. I love the cut out section to match colors. The colors around that cut out are pretty small. It would be nice to have them be a bit bigger. I believe the description did advertise for use with fabrics so they gave an accurate description.

I love this little tool. It is great for many applications right now I am using it for colored pencils. There is a YouTube video on how to use it when doing artwork with colored pencils and markers. It’s also great for Quilter’s and others wanting to match and learn color theory.

Rueda con instructivo de uso y la puedes girar para ver las combinaciones que requieres. Yo esperaba que fuera más grande, pero como ven es del tamaño del mouse o de la palma de la mano, asà que es práctica para llevarla en la bolsa. Muy recomendable!

It is compact (thus great for travel) and it has openings if you want to do some quick matching. I also like the fact that it has a few shades with each of the colours. It's an all in one colour wheel. It comes with instructions if you need them (I have not read them yet). I happened to see this product somewhere else and the price was right. I have other colour books if I want to choose a palette or to decide on something specific for a design, but this one will be very nice for those purposes as well. I think this is a great product for painting, any art form including multi media as well as for graphic or other design purposes. I do all of these, so I think it will be very useful. Oh yes... it is quite a sturdy tool. The board is stiff and coated (but not glossy) - yeah!

Das Colour Wheel enthält alle Primär-, Sekundär- und Tertiärfarben. Pro Farbe sind 7 verschieden helle und dunkle Schattierungen in einem Kreis um ein kleines Fenster herum angelegt und durchnummeriert. Nummer 1 ist dabei immer der hellste und Nummer 7 der dunkelste Farbton. So kann das Colour wheel auf eine Farbe (z.B. auf ein Stück Stoff oder ein Bild) gelegt und durch das Sichtfenster der Farbton exakt bestimmt werden.In der Mitte des Colour Wheels sind verschiedene Farbschemen abgebildet, damit man durch drehen der Scheibe erkennen kann, welche Farbkombinationen harmonisch zusammenpassen. Es gibt Kombinationen für 2,3 oder 4 Farben. Weitere harmonische Kombinationen und Tips zur Farbenlehre sind in einer beiliegenden Broschüre erklärt. Diese ist mehrsprachig.Unter anderem in Englisch, leider nicht auf Deutsch. Da aber bei youtube verschiedene Videos zu Colour wheels existieren, ist das kein Problem.Das Colour Wheels ist sehr gut durchdacht, in einer handlichen Größe und sehr praktisch zu gebrauchen.Ein sehr schönes kleines Hilfsmittel, das mich sehr begeistert hat. Ich kann es nur empfehlen. Ich habe es bei youtube gesehen und war sofort begeistert. Jetzt ist es kein Problem mehr harmonische Farben für meine Bilder auszuwählen.
