I've finally gotten around to using this for a huge job I've been putting off. We have about 1400 sq. ft. of walls with a thick faux texture. The project required a specialized machine with a vacuum feature for the dust to paint the walls a lighter color and make them look good. This one fits the bill, and on my initial test uses, it worked way better than I expected. I'm guessing the sanding ability is based largely on the unit's RPMs and the quality of the sanding disk used. I will need several grades of disks as I get closer to the texture I can live with. The disk platter itself is a good size. It is not so large that you lose the ability for a bit finer control, but it is also large enough to make good progress. The unit is heavier than I expected. Still, like my positive surprise at its effectiveness, this somewhat negative surprise may be relative to my not having any previous experience with these tools. That said, I'll be fine by taking some breaks. Regardless, this job will take way less time and effort than I initially feared.Regarding dust, I can only imagine what it would be like without that feature. However, even in my test, I noticed some dust. I'm guessing regardless of whether it actually delivers a 95% dust collection rate, I should wear an N95 mask and also seal off the areas with plastic. So, overall, taking into account the effectiveness of the unit, the weight, dust collection size, and price, this feels like an easy-to-use sander that is a good value. For me, it is a great value.

I recently purchased the PTS electric drywall sander, and it has made my sanding projects much more efficient and enjoyable. It’s powered by a robust 8.5A copper motor, which offers impressive performance with a variable speed range of 1000-2100 RPM. The five adjustable settings make it easy to tailor the speed to my specific sanding needs, whether I’m working on drywall, floors, or ceilings. One of the best features is the automatic dust vacuum system. The enlarged fan blade design increases suction power, which effectively captures 95% of the dust generated during sanding. The included 9-inch sanding disc with 10 holes significantly enhances dust collection, and with the suction hose and dust collection bag, it minimizes the cleanup required after I finish my job.The foldable and extendable handle is a nice touch, making storage simple when the sander isn't in use. The retractable extension rod is perfect for reaching different heights, adding to the convenience when tackling various sanding tasks.Additionally, the LED light strips are incredibly helpful for working in darker areas, ensuring I can see what I’m doing clearly. The detachable edge design allows me to reach narrow corners with ease, and the adjustable head makes it simple to sand at different angles, which has been a game changer for removing popcorn ceilings. The package includes everything you need: the electric sander, various sandpapers, suction hose, extension handle, dust collection bag, and even safety gear like gloves and glasses. The included user manual is helpful for setup and instructions.Overall, this drywall sander is a powerful, well-designed tool that helps make sanding tasks easier and more effective. I highly recommend it for anyone looking to simplify their drywall and renovation work!

I ordered this drywall sander for quickly knocking down spot repairs and seams. The sander worked as expected, with everything in the box to get you started, even a dust collection bag if you don’t wish to attach an external vacuum. But with the included vacuum hose adapters, there is no reason not to use an external collection system.Admittedly, I am not as young as I used to be which may explain why I was concerned with the weight of the unit for working on ceilings. Sanding walls is less of a concern, especially since the weight will help the sander more aggressively remove material. The sander comes with two sets of sanding pads in different grits. Depending on the size of your project, I would recommend having additional pads available before you begin. The sander comes with a storage bag, although I doubt that it will withstand the abuses associated with most job sites. I kept half of the bottom piece of packing foam, the part that held the sander head. The foam provides some rigidity for the carrying bag, a place to keep sanding pads flat and a cradle for the sander’s head. The rest of the gear easily stows in the bag with plenty of room for any additional items you may need.At first, I thought that the bag of spare parts was a nice bonus. However, after my first use of the sander, I am concerned that it may a prediction of a future failure. Specifically, the electric motor produces a lot of ozone, that smell that you get when the brushes in an electric motor are burning. Thankfully, the odor dissipated, or perhaps I just became accustomed to the smell. It never occurred to me to look for a brushless drywall sander, but if I ever find myself in need of another unit, I will.Overall, this appears to be good drywall sander for any DIYer. Professionals will probably want to spend more for a fully integrated sander and vacuum. While a vacuum hose can be connected to this drywall sander, managing the sander and the trailing vacuum hose can be a bit challenging, especially in smaller rooms. Regardless, this drywall sander is available at a good price, especially considering the 20% coupon that was available at the time of my review.
