I’m not going to lie I bought this for the sole fact it had skulls on it. That being said I have used it against the sun and rain. This umbrella kills it at both blocking the sun and rain. Any goth girls dream!I did only give it four stars because I thought it was going to snap in half when the breeze got a bit rough. If it had broken I probably would have bought another one. I love it!

I ordered this a month ago, today was my first time to use it and went to close it , it closed the umbrella but can’t push it all the way down.. and it won’t open back up. Can you send me another one and I return this one?

I was walking around the ren Faire with this and after the first 5 hours of use it broke. Something in it randomly snapped, making it unable to stay latched open. Disappointing.

Since my wife works as a professional nanny, much of her time with the kids is spent outdoors in parks — often in the blazing sun or caught in a spat of unexpected rain.Her fair complexion means that she is particularly prone to sunburn, not to mention the dehydration which follows prolonged sun exposure. So in her case, the parasol functionally is even more important than the rain/umbrella utility.Rarely one to embrace the “girly girl†style, she generally prefers to add a bit of edge to her look — particularly with her accessories. Thus, since this piece is functional, fun and thoughtful (for the right recipient), I figured that it would make a pretty perfect stocking stuffer!It’s small enough to stow in a tote, backpack or large handbag, while still providing adequate coverage for at least one person. The umbrella mechanism seems to open and close smoothly enough (yes, I tempted fate by repeatedly testing it out indoors), and the skull handle is tasteful enough not to seem tacky or ostentatious. The actual color of the skull handle is pleasantly more “brass†than “gold,†which blends nicely with the black carriage. The mini-skull pattern on the carriage-top is fortunately somewhat understated as well — perceptible, but certainly not overwhelming or garish. The additional “mini-skull†on the strap/handle is a nice touch as well!Unfortunately, when collapsing the unit after use it can be quite difficult to wrangle the upper carriage back into place tightly enough to re-clasp the velcro strip around it and nearly impossible to slide the unit back into the included cover, so I’m certain that the velcro clasp will rip at some point. Nevertheless, although this piece probably won’t be your first go-to in a tropical storm or typhoon-like scenario with high winds and blistering rainfall — as a parasol with occasional use in light rain it makes a great gift for someone with an edgy style and sense of humor.

I have a subtle sense of style. My favorite types of things are ones you have to look at in order to see it all. This umbrella does that and looks incredible. It has a great feel to it, thick fabric and constructed from quality material. It had been super crappy the last 7 days in the PNW. I got some good testing in with heavy rain, snow and wind.

Goth style umbrella great for attracting goth style girls. One flash of this parasol and you'll need it to keep the goth girls at bay. The head handle is really detailed, and has a nice finish. The opening of the umbrella is rigid and strong, I'm not worried about it blowing away.Definitely a gimmick product - but it's definitely cool to flash out a skull umbrella on those rainy days - make everything darker.It's cool!
