I purchased this product for student drawings. They break very easily and sharpening them with a hand pencil sharpener was difficult. Students spent more time sharpening than drawing with them. My students were very frustrated and we had to switch to a different product to complete the project in the time allotted. I would not recommend them for the purpose of teaching.

I got these for my kids to use on black paper. They work okay but you do have to sharpen them with a knife. I knew that when I got them, but I decided to get them anyway, but I do not think they are giftable because of that.
