Worked great for fishing wires through structural insulated panels (SIPs). I used a small piece of wood with a 3/16" hole to help guide the bit; pass the shank through the hole and you'll have some leverage in tight situations.

A lot of reviewers seem to have had trouble with this, but I want to offer a counterpoint since it worked pretty well for me. Drilling through studs at an angle is always hard, just because of the dynamics of the drill bit wanting to walk as it spins. The rod on this one does bend, and in my opinion, it's just the right balance between bending for maneuverability and staying rigid to put pressure on the bit. Trying to run wire through a finished wall is just a pain in the rear, period. A flexible bit like this is a workable solution to a very annoying problem.One way to keep your bit from walking is to drill a hole in a scrap piece of wood large enough for this bit to pass through. Then glue your scrap with the hole to the first stud you want to drill through. Let it dry completely, and when you return, you'll have a good pilot hole right where you need it. You can then drill through the first stud, and that hole will help guide the bit straight toward the remaining studs. I'll admit I did blow through the drywall on the opposite side of the wall once with this, but that's a risk you take when you attempt something like this. There's a reason electricians do their work before the drywall is hung.I hope this helps someone in the future keep realistic expectations about what a bit like this can and can't do. It does work if you have the time to prepare and take it slowly, but it's not going to perform any miracles for you.

For drilling through more than drywall, I had to use a piece 1/2" electrical conduit to pass this flexible drill bit through. Otherwise, it flexed too much when I applied pressure to drill through wood.

This bit it a little too flexible and is not very sharp. After one joist, it would not drill any more holes. Poor design.

I did not need to pull the walls apart to run new electrical BX wiring after the mice damaged the existing wiring. This bit was the only 9/16" bit I could find in a flex that worked properly.

I've used other versions of these for years with success to run romex in walls that are already closed up with drywall. The cutting end/bit on the others were more cylindrical than this one and I prefer that over this one. This one I was installing an outlet 5 feet from ceiling and used this to go through the outlet cutout to the top plate. But what happened was it actually dug into the drywall on the backside and came through the back. Which I then had to patch. I've not had this issue with the type of flex bit that is more cylindrical like a normal drill bit so it doesn't dig into the drywall. It works, just be careful

Great tool, used it to install pot lights in closed ceiling. Cuts through wood with ease and is surprisingly controllable for such a whopper of a drill bit

Ordered this based on the profile picture which showed the bit had a sharp point on the end of the bit as well and a aggresive slope coming to a point. When the bit arrived the slope to the cutting edge was not as shown and the bit was dull. Did not even go through one 2x4 with out the wood starting to smoke. Would definatly not recommend this to anyone.

This product is useless! I used different types of drill machine but this one did not work at all. Even not make a single hole on 2 by 4 lumber.

I used this bit to make holes to run electrical wire, but the end of bit all slippery can’t drill holes in right position.
