Put in 220 feet of fence with it the day I got it. Easy to attach on the Earthquake auger and easy for a 70 year old guy to dig holes for fence posts by himself. Excellent product for the money.

Auger works as expected. I have used this brand several times without a problem. This particular auger has drilled over thirty holes in hard clay soilthrough roots and rocks with no damage to auger. Works great for homeowner use, but don't know how well they would hold up if used commercially.

The auger drills nice if there are no rocks but when it hits a rock it wants to move slightly. This was a problem as I needed good locations for fence posts. Why the spiral "dirt lifting" diameter is way smaller than the 6 inch cutting plate I'll never understand. I have an 8 inch auger and the diameter is the same all the way up. Look closely at the picture because it does show the 6 inch auger has the smaller diameters.

Have the 8†and 6†augers and both were received with the cutting edge on backwards, are they shipped this way? Once the edge was reversed, they both cut like a charm.

Does the job that it's designed for, but ensure that you have both a big enough engine to turn it, and enough weight( or a buddy) to help you control it. This is definitely a serious piece of kit. It cuts fast and clean, and keeping the hole vertical is easier than with competing models.
