I needed two of these in a 3-way circuit, one at the top and another at the bottom of the stairs. Other reviews were pessimistic about this setup, but it works great. The manual has instructions on how to install either 1 or 2 motion sensors in a 3-way circuit. When I first powered it up, the motion sensor lit up but the light didn't turn on. It could've been because the time setting was in test mode (all the way counter-clockwise). I adjusted the knobs under the cover and they now work like I want them to.While the installation isn't hard, the average homeowner may not be familiar electrical circuits, particularly 3-way circuits. There's a hot side where the power comes in which connects to the auxiliary switch. The primary switch connects to the load (aka the light). You'll need a voltmeter to determine which wire is the incoming hot. If you're very careful, you could touch the hot wire to a light bulb directly, and the other pin to ground to test without a voltmeter. If you don't have electrical experience, get a friend to help or be prepared to spend a lot of time figuring it out. That's not a fault with the switch.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! My husband is not ELECTRICIAN, he knows basis, in about 30 mins both manual switches were replaced for the 2 motion sensor switches. Both bottom switches work like charm and motion sensors as well. He read the paper manual and made double check on it with the currently wiring, everything went smooth. He said work first on the switch hole that carry the HOT, that is the MASTER switch, second switch is easier to connect. We are happy to have this installed without any problem. It really works 3Ways.

I've installed a bunch of various motion sensor/vacancy sensor/occupancy sensor switches over a couple decades. These are right up there with the best of class at a much lower price point.Pros:Work as advertised - timer function, sensitivity adjustment, ambient light adjustment - I had none of the issues that other reviewers were commenting about (please read below for a possible cause)Can be wired in parallel - great for basement stairwell lighting and basement lighting to go on/off while any motion detectedOccupancy AND vacancy functions selectable - in the vacancy mode the switch has to be manually pressed to turn the light on and the motion sensor timeout will turn them off. I've never liked this function, but in California it is a Title 24 requirement. In the occupancy mode it operates like any 'normal' motion sensor - turns on when someone enters and turns off after the timeout when no movement detected.Cons:Clearly stated in the description this items NEEDS a neutral to operate correctly. If your wiring in the switch box does not have a white neutral wire then you will not get this to work correctly (don't use the ground wire as a neutral if it is there) Some older wiring and even some newer wiring reidentifies the white neutral inside the switch box as a switched hot. While perfectly code compliant this will not work for these devices. The biggest revelation for my install was that when power is first applied, or after a power failure, these devices DO NOT behave like you might expect if you have used other motion sensor switches. After power is applied FOR THE FIRST TIME after installing or after a California power outage, these devices will turn the load on for about 15 seconds then turn off - and STAY OFF even though the little green light detects motion. One needs to press the button manually to turn the lights on. It works just fine after that. This cost the review one star.Lastly and this is pretty minor, the instructions are clearly written by ESL and have to be interpreted by the installer.Overall a really good product with a quirk or two

First was skeptical as price seems low compare to other brands. I tried a few other products for my stairway, such as Lutron and wasted a lot of time trying to make it work. It took me some time ( I am not electrician and my wiring seems like was not as in diagram) to figure out how to make this switch to work, but was not very painful. So far works great at both ends of the stairs. Motion turns on lights as soon as you walking in, with other brands I had some delay, and it was very annoying.

I bought 10 pack 3 way switches, Installed by the manual. But it does not work.My wiring 100% correct. Double cheekedTried to swap travelers as well; still does not work.Tried 4 others switches from the same box still the same issueThat's really disappointing, There is no way you can call company who sell it. So my final attempt is to email them and after return it.Already wasted too much time on this-So they updated me with new wiring instructions which is completely different from what you see in the box. Attached hereBut now I faced new issues. Interference with my Kasa smart switch! My smart switch installed in the same electrical box / wiring 100% not related with smart switch; expect neutral and ground wires. So basically it turns on this switch because it detects wifi from smart switch even when you not using it.I’m 100% sure, because after long hours of troubleshooting, I wrapped up this switch with foil!!! and it stopped doing that. I also tested with my phone wifi next to the switch.I tried to off sensitivity or light detection, no changes.Unfortunately I can’t keep this switch wrapped up in the foil LOLTherefore not completely understand how come, it is heat detection sensor only? Or also part time works as smart switchIf this switch would work correct it would be great. Single location is fine I guess.

For this 3 ways sensor switch it is highly recommend to get a pair to work correctly; otherwise it is kind of confusing for the setup and would not work smoothly. The company is trustworthy and provide very good customer service for the support A++

I rarely write negative reviews but thought it was worth warning people away from this product. Doing a Reno, I bought this in the summer, and by the time the electrician came and I found out how poorly made these were it was too late to return. Company has no support. Avoid at all cost

I knew this 3-way motion detector would not be very easy to install, but I got that alright, and it functioned as it should. However, I had to be within 5ft of the switch for it to 'see' me. And that was with the sensitivity set to the highest point.I'm in Canada, and to get it refunded/replaced I had to send it to California. I'm hoping I get the refund and mailing cost refunded! I will update this 'review' as to what happens.
