nutrition perservation of different cooked egg

Poaching with mold is the better way to cook an egg.

Egg will lose egg white and vitamins when cooked in different ways. When poached in the old fasion way, the egg white will dissolve in water and leave a mess to clean. And with oil and high temperature in frying methods, not only egg loses vitamins but also the cooking process generates dangerous chemicals. Poach with mold is the better way for you to get the most nutrition preservation and have no meesy peeling compared to hard boiling egg.

What is a Poached egg?

A poached egg is an egg that has been cooked by poaching, as opposed to simmering or boiling liquid. This method of preparation is favored for delicate foods that could be damaged by cooking at higher temperatures such as the boiling point of water. The 'perfect' poached egg has a runny yolk, with a hardening crust and no raw white remaining.

Why choose poached egg?

Research at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York indicates that frying or grilling foods at high temperatures can actually produce compounds that may increase body inflammation, which is of special concern to individuals who struggle with arthritis or other inflammatory-type diseases. Poached eggs are prepared with boiling water, which does not produce these inflammatory-causing compounds.

Poaching is the healther way.

Poaching is an indirect, moist-heat cooking method that calls for boiling an egg without its shell. Of the handful of conventional preparation techniques, it ranks as one of the healthiest ways to cook an egg. For about 70 calories, a large poached egg supplies more than 6 grams of high-quality protein, 4.7 grams of mostly unsaturated fat and significant amounts of vitamin D, antioxidant compounds and choline, a nutrient essential to healthy brain function.

The Cozilife silicone egg poaching cups will blow your mind with how easy they make poached eggs. In my opinion, the thing that makes this product so great is the paper-thin nature of the silicone cups. The silicone is so thin, it’s like you just tossed the eggs into boiling water by themselves. The thinness of the silicone conducts heat from the surrounding water so well, the eggs might just as well be in the water by themselves. The only difference, of course, is that the silicone cups keep the water away from the eggs, eliminating the “wispiness” of the egg whites that get all over the place, creating a big mess. This is where I thought these silicone cups would fail, because silicone is often used as an insulator (in pot holders, oven mits, etc.). But in those applications, the silicone is thick and prevents the transfer of heat (or cold, for that matter). These silicone cups are so thin, they do just the opposite (conduct heat), and I only understood that when I took them out of their box. The thinness of the silicone cups doesn’t take anything away from their durability and quality, either.PLEASE NOTE: you never want to cook poached eggs in hot water at a roiling boil, whether using the traditional method or with these cups. They don't cook any faster and you risk a serious burn.Instructions:(1) Spray the inside of the cups with a cooking spray (like PAM).(2) Place the empty cups into the pan you plan to use.(3) Fill the pan with water until the cups just barely start to float (an inch or so of water). You may leave the cups in the pan or take them out if this is easier for you.(4) Heat the water until it just barely begins to boil, then back off on the heat to about Medium. Please note: you never want to cook poached eggs in hot water at a roiling boil, whether using the traditional method or with these cups. They don't cook any faster and you risk a serious burn.(5) Crack an egg into each cup. Place them in the hot water if you took the cups out in step 3.(6) Monitor the condition of the yolks by poking them with a sharp knife now and then. You will notice when they reach the consistency you prefer (runny, medium, hard boiled, etc.). Remember, the eggs will continue to cook for the next few minutes, so adjust your timing as required. Cooking will happen rather quickly…no more than three minutes at the most and, more likely, only one or two minutes.(7) Turn off the heat. I use an induction cooktop, so cooking happened super fast.Pulling the cups out of the hot water is the trickiest thing about using these silicone egg cups. Unfortunately, this is the only area I cannot give advice on.UPDATE: After reading a few of the reviews here, I'd have to say that the lady who recommended using a slotted spoon to retrieve the egg poachers out of the hot water, was spot-on. Such a simple, quick and safe solution! If you find that you’ve gone too far and now have hard boiled eggs (with a firm yolk), you can somewhat compensate for this by placing a dollop of butter into the cup (on top of the cooked egg) and letting it melt there. This will somewhat make up for the creaminess a runnier yolk would have provided. Or maybe you’ll like hard boiled eggs made this way…they’re perfectly acceptable and quite tasty, especially in a breakfast sandwich. Here’s my own, super-tasty special breakfast recipe: I buy “Texas Toast” (Five Cheese version) from my local Aldi and toast a slice or two in a toaster oven. Then, I place two poached eggs on top of each slice. Add whatever other toppings you like (avocado, etc.). The slightly crunchy texture of the Texas Toast and five cheeses along with the creaminess of the poached eggs topped with salt, pepper and cayenne pepper (and possibly parsley flakes for color), and OMG! What a great tasting breakfast! All in all, the Cozilife Silicone Egg Poaching Cups make poaching eggs much easier than traditional methods while making much less of a mess. Cleanup is fast and easy. Needless to say, I highly recommend this product.

Well, they do what they say - they poach eggs. Super quick, easy, and clean up fast. However, we have two little boys and these work great for little snack holders too. Given their shape and that they weren't designed for that, they aren't necessary super stable on their own. I pop them into little 6 cup muffin tins and fill them with goldfish crackers or cheerios and the kids love it! Snack time is colorful - yay! I am very happy with this purchase!

Perfect poached eggs with these, but you have to use common sense and the instructions are garbage.Instructions say to use cooking spray on the poacher before putting eggs in. You need to actually brush the inside of the cups with the oil, or it just pools in the bottom.Boil the water before putting the eggs in. The instructions say to heat the water after adding the poachers and eggs - this doesn’t work if you want a true poached egg with a runny yolk. Watch them closely and wait for the white film to form over the top of the eggs. Then you’re golden.

Being silicone, these are especially easy to clean, even if you don't use a non-stick spray (though that does make it even easier). The query regarding 'Easy to remove' is ambiguous, but I'll address this as ease of removing the finished poached eggs. There will be some sticking if you don't use a non-stick spray, resulting in small bits of cooked egg adhering to the silicone after the cooked egg is removed. In using a spray, you will find that the least amount of mist is preferable, else the amount of spray becomes a sheet of oil that slides down the sides and pools at the bottom of the cup, effectively leaving the sides with no non-stick spray. Efforts to apply the oil by brush results in the same useless effort."Easy to use" is to be viewed from multiple perspectives: when a thin mist is used, the cooked egg will literally slide right out of the cup. Attempting to break an egg directly into the cup with the cup sitting on a counter top will then cause you to attempt to lift the extremely soft and flexible cup, containing an egg, to the microwave tray or other cooking option. This will require special attention as the sides will collapse, allowing the near-liquid egg to pour out of the cup.Use of a microwave is of particular interest as my son live at 9,000 foot elevation in Colorado and, though water boils at 212° here at California coast sea level, providing for a good stove-top poaching experience, water boils at about 186° at his home, which simply is too cool for poaching eggs...Placing a cup or a nest of cups in the center of the microwave will almost certainly result in the yolk being cooked hard as the white is cooked to the desired state of doneness. I've found that by placing the cup(s) at the outside edge of the rotating microwave plate and cooking for about 40 seconds, the rotating the cup 180° followed by cooking for another 20 seconds has allowed me to get closer to that ideal cooked whites / runny yolk poached egg.

I have purchased 3 microwave egg poachers and they didn’t work well. I saw the Amazon review on these and decided I’d try them. They worked great in the pot of water with a lid and are easy to clean. I’d recommend these to anyone that likes poached eggs.

I really like these. They make cooking eggs, however done you want them, very easy. My tip is to use cold butter to grease the cups before adding egg. When I used cooking spray some little bit of egg, even making sure to rub the spray oil all around, would always be left to clean out. With the butter the eggs slide out without any effort and no mess.
