What you see is what you get here — an inexpensive key that works. No frills, no connecting cable (you add the cable depending on what kind of a connector you need). Occasionally I need a key to test something I’m building or repairing. I dislike disconnecting my Bencher key or my Vibroplex key from various rigs just to test a circuit or a small device on my workbench. So I keep this one on my workbench. Does the job. I would not want to use this key to have a 30 minute ragchew with an SKCC member. But for limited time activities or emergencies, it’s fine.

Purchased for my 8 year old grandson to learn Morse code. Added a buzzer and it worked great. Not as good as a real brass key but much less expensive.

You get what you pay for. Not any good as a CW Key, but does make for a good way to key a microphone instead of those hand trigger type things made by Heil and other companies. That's the only reason for 3 stars. If they sold it as a PTT instead of a CW Key, it would have received 5 stars..... Haha

This is just a basic key, or push button. Wire it up and when you press the key, the circuit is on. Once I figured how to rig it up with a buzzer and a 9-volt battery, it was fun to use. Can also put it in line on a circuit for an intermittent flow of electricity. I'm a newbie at electronics and this is very basic but fun. Some people might complain about the features, but for the price, it seems a sturdy, useful value.

Yes, this is just a simple contact switch with some flex, but sometimes simple is good. Fewer parts to go bad and the construction is pretty solid. Heavyish plastic base and two screw terminals for wiring your circuit. Normally open, pressing down on the paddle completes the circuit. Good for fast or slow CW, so as long as you have the handle down, you're completing the circuit. Make your Dah's as long as you want!

I don't know why but my 8 year old grandson wanted to learn the Morse Code after he read about it in the dictionary (He likes to read the dictionary and the thesaurus). So, I ordered this for him and he loves it.

I am an ex Navy Radio Operator, this was a great opportunity to use some of my basic electrical skills and knowledge to pass on to grandson and Cadets I volunteer with. This simple Code Keyer has quick wiring connections on top, I have opted for underside wiring to keep it cleaner. A template for the screw positions would be nice but I managed to get layout ok. Would love to have options in a kit for head phone output, or short range transmitter. I may add wiring long enough to go between two rooms. Heath Kit used to put out a great trainer that we actually used in Communications School. would love to get hold of one. A great purchase overall, and a great way to annoy my wife!
