  • [A better way to extend the swimming season]: A warm pool for your kids, pets and the whole family! What you need is an efficient, low operating cost heating system - an ECO POOLTECH pool heating pump for your pool that extends play for months!
  • [Save Money]: Base on heat pump technology, the EU50 heat pump absorbs energy from the air and transfers it into the water. So the operation only requires very limited electric input, hence its high efficiency and heat conversion rate can reach a score of COP 5.6. In other words, for every cent of electricity spent, 5.6 times heat is generated!
  • [Ideal for Above Ground Pools]: The Pool heat pump EU50 is designed for above ground pools with up to 5000 gallons of water (No bigger than 15ft round or 9x18ft rectangular). This unit can operate at outdoor temperatures of 40ºF to 105 ºF, under optimal operating conditions the pool can be heated up to 100ºF.
  • [Easy to Install]:The pool heater EU50 allowing fast and easy hookup without professional installation. Just hook up several quick connectors, then plug and play. No need tools, no need plumber.
  • [Built in flow sensor] The machine is equipped with a water flow sensor, which can automatically control the working time of the heater through the timing setting of the water pump.Pure titanium heat exchanger safe for salty water. Intelligent control system, easy to operate.

Electric Swimming Pool Heater Pump
pool heater 5000 gallons
  • The EU50 has a heating capacity of up to 5000 gallons, 9'x18' oval or 15' round. If you reside in a northern region, it is recommended to choose a larger size heater, such as the model EU70.

  • The operating temp. range for the EU50 is between 45F and 100F. It performs optimally at temp. above 60F.

  • Yes, all our heaters are equipped with titanium heat exchangers, which are compatible with both saltwater and freshwater.

  • A solar cover is significant helpful to prevent heat loss and facilitate faster heating of the pool to your desired temperature.

I ordered this for my 14' swim spa, which I intend to keep around 96F year round in the Midwest. The device took some work to unpack, but installation was pretty straightforward. My only complaint was that the electrical hookup didn't have a hole for a round liquid-tight flex conduit fitting, so I had to snug the electrical line itself down as best I could to the device's electrical panel.I've run the heater for several weeks now, including in 20-30F outdoor temperatures while heating the swim spa to 96F. The coils start to freeze when the ambient temperature is near or below zero, but this is no problem as the heat pump periodically reverses and defrosts the coils in about 30 seconds, then continues heating the pool. The heat pump seems to heat the pool as per its nameplate power rating. I was a bit confused about the power rating at first, as the nameplate says the max power is at 90Hz, not 60Hz, which made no sense given that line frequency is always 60Hz. It turns out this is because the compressor runs at variable speeds due to the inverter tech, which converts to DC and then back to AC with variable frequency. This is a big plus in my view -- I noticed when the inlet temperature is very much below the set point, it consumes about 2kW running at max power to heat up quickly, but for regular cycles around the set point, it consumes only about 1100W. This speed variability presumably improves the efficiency, and the energy meter I put on the line shows the electrical consumption has gone down substantially, probably around 1/3 of what it was for resistive heating. This roughly matches the claimed coefficient of performance.Once I got it running, I was trying to get the temperature swing under 0.5F (see the temperature plot), but I was getting swings around 2F. I emailed the tech support, which responded the next day with detailed answers to my questions. It turns out the unit has a lot of internal settings which can be accessed through the control panel. These are described in the user manual but weren't always clear. I was able to lower the swing setting and get to about 1.5F swing. Still not perfect, but definitely good enough.I understand the device shuts off when the ambient drops below 20F. I expect it will automatically come back on again as the temperature rises, but I'll edit the review if it has to be manually reset.EDIT: A few nights ago I left it running when the ambient temperature plunged to zero degrees F. It kept running and continued raising the pool temperature around 8F ambient temperature but could only hold the pool temperature steady around 97F water temperature at 0F ambient temperature. I was worried that the low ambient temperature might slug the compressor, so I emailed tech support. They emailed back within a few hours to say that you can run the unit all the way down to -18F (!) ambient temperature, and below that it will shut itself off with an error code (E23) to protect the compressor. They only recommend running it down to +20F ambient temperature, as the efficiency drops below that, but you can safely leave it running. This is great for a year-round hot tub.Bottom line: It works well as advertised, even when it is down to 20F outside. I would definitely buy again.

Did not receive any instructions. Did not come with electrical hook up. Very disappointed. Would not recommend at all! And could not get in contact with mfg with questions.

Worked as advertised. In conjunction with solar cover was able to keep pool 80-82 degree's. When the sun was out pool temp would increase 5 degrees after cold night. I have a 15 foot round 48” pool. I would recommend this product.

Due to lack of reviews I thought it would be helpful to share my opinion on this heater. I live in Michigan. Pool in picture is 5,000 gallons so it’s at its max of what the heater is rated for. Does it work? Yes, to a point. Heat addition or losses is measured in BTU’s. The heater can only add so many BTU’s. If the weather is cold and sucking more BTU’s out of your pool than the heater can add, then your pool will not heat up. I found that outside temp to be 60 degrees F. If it was 60 outside and no sun then the heater couldn’t keep up and pool would cool off. 60 outside WITH sun and I was able to keep the pool at 89 degrees F. It Kept our pool warm during the summer months, but whenever it gets below 60 degrees outside the heater cannot keep up with BTU’s being pulled out of the pool. Maybe the next size up would’ve worked better? Fittings-throw away the fittings that came with the heater, they don’t work and will leak, go to ace hardware and buy threaded fittings and make your own connections.

I started off with a EU50 that was fine, heating my 3K Gal pool to 90 +/- w/ night temps 40f - day temps 70f. After about 1 year; the EU50 started to fail and found this EU70, wanting to stick with a simple 120V solution. This EU70 is a serious heating monster; in 12 hours at 40f outside temp it raised my pool from 60f to 70f; i have no doubt in 2 days it will be at 90f. great product, fit my exact needs.

I have a 18ft by 9ft by 4ft rectangular pool in Wisconsin and this heater is wonderful! Paired with a solar cover, this heater really heats the entire pool. Outside temps here are 70’s during the day and 50’s at night at the moment and the pool is still VERY comfortable to be in. I did have to purchase one extra hose to complete the line between the pump and the heated.
