I like the form and it's much quieter than my old heat pump. Does the job well and is more efficient. Replaced a 5 year old Raypak that died. This one has a plastic cabinet which is much better for our high rust area (Central Florida Coast), also smaller footprint but more efficient. Simple controls, set the temp and you are done. Simple hookup to existing wires and pipes, took half an hour, had to cut/glue one pipe only.So far so good, would buy again.

Installed myself and it was easy. 6000 gallon in ground pool. BTW, I was debating on 40 amp breaker and 8 guage but went with 30 amp and much cheaper 10 guage. No issues so glad I followed some advice on here and did so. My pool was 85 degrees when I turned it on. It was at 98 degrees within 4 hours. Yeah I know, that's hot but I gotta keep the ice princess of a wife happy. I live in eastern WA so maybe this will allow me to keep my pool open until Halloween...

This heater surpassed our expectations for 1 summer. Suddenly stopped working after keeping our above ground intex pool at 84 degrees. We are still trying to find someone to fix it.

Keeps my 7k gallon pool warm (84 degrees). Operates automatically with pool pump. Much more efficient than my old gas heater. Worth the investment. Use your solar cover save $$$!

Have only had it wired up for a week, but working great. Had electricians come run the line I plumbed the heater in and it’s running fantastic. Got to 85° within 24 hours. For those with above ground pools, get away from the flex pipe and convert to PVC to make a more efficient use of the pump and heater.

The build quality seems to be good, however, the pump itself is just very underwhelming. I oversized the pump slightly and went with the 50, and even with that its still doesn't do a very good job. I double checked my sizing to make sure I didn't make a mistake and technically the pump is slightly oversized for the application. I would not go with the unit again. Hayward does make good products though, this one was just not up to snuff.

I use this to heat the water of my 12x24 above ground pool. It works great. i’d say about 2degree per hour when starting at 75ish.i keep it at 84.i now also use a solar blanket to help retain the heat overnight and reduce the water loss.i sometimes keep it during the days kids don’t use the pool and it’s an amazing combination.
