These work really well as long as you have it in the right modes. The main issue for me is the small delay on the buttons to changing the modes. The case is a bit bulky and awkward to open. As for the audio quality it is not very good, but for what these are meant for - they do their job well at a decent price compared to others.

I've tried several other types of electronic hearing protection and had mostly given up on them ,opting for traditional types of hearing protection instead. Problems I've had with other brands include bad echo's and reverb, a short pass thru of the loud sound before switching off, lack of basic features, or sensitive and difficult controls. I don't have any of these issues with these EARMOR M20T ear buds. There is zero sound pass through with sudden loud noises, and there is no noticeable delay in normal sounds passing through. Neither have I noticed any echo or reverb in different situations and uses. I do find with a steady loud noise they do not switch off, such as when I'm working near jet engines. The pass through sound may be limited to 85db but I find this too loud when it will be long term exposure. This can be remedied by switching to quiet mode, which is easily done.Sound is adjusted in real time, and I notice an ebb and flow that takes some getting used to. Sound levels decrease and increase, up to the maximum 85db. Softer sounds feel amplified and closer, such as clothes rubbing together, which also takes some getting used to. Sound is in stereo, and direction is easily felt.I like the controls. The squared off ends make it easy to find the button. And it's a real button that can be felt, with a click for positive feedback. I have a different set of earbuds that are rounded and smooth, with touch sensitive control. I need to feel around to find the right spot to touch and then it's going through different functions I do not want. No such problem with these.I've made phone calls on the freeway while in my Jeep (noisy cabin). The listener said the audio was better with my Jeep's UConnect but still useable and understandable. I also made a phone call while working the ramp at the airport. I thought it would be impossible for the listener to hear or understand me. There was a 737 approaching the gate, other aircraft taxiing, ground equipment and a loudspeaker making announcements. The listener said there was plenty of background noise but still easily understood me.I do wish the charging case was sleeker and rounder. I find it large and bulky, and its rectangular shape makes it a poor fit to carry with you in a pocket. I am glad it has the lanyard, a small but convenient feature to let them hang around your neck when not in use, but readily available.

These are horrible and don't work like other electronic shooting protection. Ambient mode provides no protection. Clear voice mode provides no protection. Silent mode makes absolute protection at all times, so you can't hear what is going on around you. Once you put the buds in your ears, you can't get them to change modes. I've pressed them and I know the button registered because I felt the click, but it wouldn't change modes at all. You may as well use plain protective buds and remove them when you need to hear instructions.

These are great to block out loud nosies when you need it. These ear buds are small but powerful. Their power is not making noises louder but instead blocking out all the noises of the world around you, and they do that job amazingly. The ear buds are small and comfortable for me to wear and I really don't like having things in my ears. They are good at blocking out the sounds you don't want toe hear, like loud generators or air compressors. Even though they are blocking out the loud sounds you can adjust them to just hear the voices around you. These are great to wear the whole day at work andstill be able to hear enough to get the job done.

These earbuds certainly have one purpose. They do that one job really well, and everything else is alright. The noise cancellation is great, but not as good as something like AirPods Pro 2 which you can find on sale for a bit more than this. Sound quality isn’t good. Every kind of frequency is muddled with little response/clarity. Still not nearly as good as AirPods. But what it does excellently, is it can adjust the noise cancellation around you for each earbud dynamically. There are three modes on these earbuds. One amplifies all noises around you, one amplifies all voices around you, and one blocks out as much noise as possible. When I got these I expected to hit a certain environmental db and it immediately turns on noise cancellation and that’s all. However, in either amplification mode, these adjust the volume of the sounds around you in real time to keep it at or below the safe limit of 85db. I tested this by blasting music in my car, and it hit a point where I didn’t hear an increase in the volume no matter how loud I cranked it. I played songs on my phone and blasted it while holding it next to one ear, then the other, then in front of me about a foot from my face. All three of those positions it held a constant volume for both ears. In terms of just balancing how much noise it blocks out and doing so in real time, it’s great and I’m thoroughly impressed with these earbuds. In other terms they fall short, and most are fixable issues if there’s ever a version 2 of these. If you cover the microphone on the backside of either and you aren’t in “full noise cancellation†mode, an incredibly loud shrill plays through the speakers. It’s loud to the point that if you set it down on a table and that microphone is covered by the surface, I can hear it while sitting a few feet away. If you adjust it in your ears and cover it you get the sound, if you try and press the button and fat-finger it over the mic you get the sound, and if you pull it from the case and support it then you’ll get that sound. It seems like it could be a fairly simple fix by making sure there’s a limit to what it’s trying to “cancel outâ€, so in that regard it loses a few points.Comfort will depend on the person wearing them, it comes with both foam ear-tips and three-tiered silicone ones. Both worked well to block out noise, although I think the silicone tips went inside my ear too far as it was uncomfortable when fully seated and hooked in. If seated correctly with the ear tips that suit you best, they stay in very well and won’t fall out during a workout or intense movement. The looks of them are clearly focused on being “rugged†and durable because they sick out farther than most earbuds.Overall, they’re decent for the money and I’d recommend them to anyone working with loud sounds that still need to hear people around them, such as construction workers or people at a firing range, as long as you learn to not cover that microphone on the back.
