I absolutely love these speakers! As a keyboardist, I play mainly piano, EP, clav, and organ sounds. I have never been satisfied with keyboard amplifiers. But I also didn't want to spend too much on amplification since I play as a side gig, rather than all-out professional. These are a perfect value.Firstly, musicians should care way more about their amplification than they usually do. As good as any instrument, microphone, or processor may be, your audience will hear pretty much only what the speakers produce. So they are really important. These sound just terrific! They have very decent bass response, although recognize that I'm not doing anything that requires really thumping bass. For more bass, you can simply add a powered bass amplifier, and choose a crossover point on these speakers.Next, they look great. These are very professional with the nice flat grille in front and simple EV logo.Further, they have great electronics, with a 1000W amplifier (recognize that this is 1000W max, and has about 500W RMS power).Another benefit is the ~35 lb weight. This makes it easy to carry two in to a gig on your own and install on a tripod without help.Lastly, for $350 each, this is a great price for everything you're getting. It's something you can buy to get into the game, then purchase more to upgrade.One downside is that, to make the weight so low, they use a hard plastic shell. This isn't the most durable material, and any bumps or scratches will show up. Also, the grille is somewhat easily bent. I purchased some homemade covers to help protect them, but you should treat them gingerly while transporting to keep them looking great. Once you get to the gig, turn them up!

I highly recommend these, especially at this price point. They are lighter than some other powered speakers, and they have conveniently-placed handles on the top and bottom of the back as well as on one side for easy handling and transport. I have used these for months now on various types of live events, including musicals using dozens of wireless mics, rock/pop bands, and corporate events. I have found that they need virtually no EQ in any of these situations in order to sound very good. There is built-in DSP (Digital Signal Processing) presets and I have almost always used them in Live mode (which gives just about the flatest EQ response curve of the presets) with the Pole Mount configuration (no low frequency boost or high frequency cut) and the results have been consistently good in any situation, indoors or outdoors. I have also used them as floor monitor wedges for an act and, using the Monitor configuration (a low frequency and high frequency roll off) the speakers performed flawlessly with no EQ needed.I own an Allen & Heath Qu-16 console and have found it to have a warm sound. These speakers are not necessarily "warm" sounding speakers, but they are not harsh either, like some JBL models. I find these speakers to be fairly neutral sounding, with nice clarity in the upper mids and highs. They pair really well with my console, giving me an easy mix every time. At this price point I find them a much better value than the QSC K12s.There are only two small things that these speakers lack -1. The physical shape of the speaker cabinet does not allow it to stack one on top of the other. This could become an issue for transporting the speakers or storage, but I've not yet minded this.2. There are no rigging points built into the cabinets. This means that the cabinets are not suitable for hanging and flying. They must either be put on the ground or placed on a speaker stand.

This speaker deserves no less than five stars. Other speakers in this price range have a difficult time keeping up. It really comes close to equally comparing to the higher priced qsc or yamaha dxr. A significant difference is this speaker is not made in a wooden box. It's sounds extremely clear with a very rich mid range and a low end that compares to any other 12's and even some 15's in other brands. If you just don't have the money then go buy a cheaper speaker I am sure a behringer or alto will play your music but if you want to get better quality for a little extra money you only need to pay an extra hundred bucks for this speaker compared to several hundred bucks to upgrade to the other high end models. The speaker would be great as a monitor perhaps even a little more speaker than most monitor needs would require. If you are looking for a good versatile speaker to throw on a stand for small venues, lay on the floor as monitor, or even dj some events I don't think you could find anything better. Mount this on top of a sub and you won't be asking for any upgrades. I researched a ton before I purchased and I listened to lots other speakers as well. I have owned and installed some higher and lower end gear and I'm not going to bash those companies. I also know having worked at a national branded music store, salesmen work on commission and are sometimes encouraged to sell the gear that has a larger profit margin. The name brand gear like EV, yamaha, qsc, etc often don't offer the retail stores as much headroom for profit as the lower end gear filled with cheaper components. Research, Listen, and Repeat then Purchase.

Bij Amazon een EV ZLX 12 P besteld. de aanbieder had nog maar een speaker dus het tweede exemplaar via een ander kanaal aangeschaft. De speaker is zoek geraakt tijdens het vervoer waarbij ik lange tijd moest gissen.Heel correct vanuit Amazon het bedrag retour gekregen. Super hoe ze dat oppakken. Onverwachts kwam het pakket toch bij ons aan. de doos zwaar beschadigd met een willekeur aan stickers op de doos.Het zou een EV ZLX 15 P zijn of toch een EV ZLX 12 BT. de Doos zelf verraadde al dat het om het passieve model ging. Daar moet je dan een aparte versterker voor organiseren en dat is prima in een vaste zaal maar niet voor mij als muzikant die het in de auto moet vervoeren.Vanuit het tweede model kan ik zeggen dat de kwaliteit van de speaker zeer hoog is. mooi laag geluid ( in een 100 plus publiek zou ik een sub gebruiken om het laag verder te laten reiken. Voor ons publiek is het met de Bas versterker samen een mooi geluidsbeeld. Stemmen klinken natuurlijk en helder. Als ik de speaker als monitor gebruik dan krijg ik kippenvel omdat je jezelf zo helder hoort dat je veel meer mogelijkheden met je stem krijgt. tijdens de aanschaf kwam net de G2 versie op de markt. Super dat ze deze speaker naar een nieuw niveau trekken. Ik heb echter een digitale versterker van RCF (m18 RCF) daar kan ik alles met een iPad op het podium regelen. De mixer in de nieuwe versie heeft voor mij dan geen meerwaarde.

Fue una excelente compra, el equipo es como pense que funcionaria y llegaron de manera completa. el unico detalle que tuve es que me combraron impuestos por la importacion, cuestion que no estaba considerada ni mencionada por parte del vendedor.Respecto al producto y entrega estuvo excelente.

Great power, they sound fantastic. The only thing I have an issue with is there is a constant hissing when they are at 0db and on. You will never hear htis during party time but I use them at weddings and for the ceremony and the speeches where there are big lulls of silence you can notice it. Not sure if it;s my gain staging however so take that as a not sure if it;s me or the speakers.

I was looking for a compact high quality stage monitor, but the Yorkville E10p that I wanted was just too expensive even used. Although this speaker is bigger, it seems to have an even fuller sound with pretty much the same amount of power. Very impressive for less than half the price! This speaker is fantastic value And quite versatile.
