Show Engine & Transmission Temperatures
With this OBD2 hack, you can see the numerical temperatures for the Engine coolant and transmission above the gauges .
With this hack, the dashboard will show the actual numerical temperature above each of the gauges. This only works on the 8" digital dashboard clusters.
Enable the OEM Trailer Brake Controller
After you install the new trailer brake controller into the dash, you need to program and activate the Ipc using OBDII tool instead of taking your truck to the dealer
Is it safe?
Yes, if done properly. But modifying settings via the OBD-II port needs to be done very carefully - making mistakes can potentially cause damage to the vehicle.
So please take caution to backup the cars configuration with the software in the event something doesn't work as planned and check numbers three times before making changes

This cheap little device is just straight awesome! For it being cheap it works perfectly! I got it to work with forscan & my Ford escape. It does not disappoint. I was able, despite the warning on forscan that its not supported, to get it to communicate and do any and everything I want. It's like have it hooked up to the dealership computer. Can read and clear codes not just the check engine light but also other codes that don't show up on standard scanners! I can't recommend this enough specially if your using with forscan but don't want to spend a lot more money on the OBD2 readers that are supported!

I wanted this to hack on for an electronics project and I didn't care about the USB functionality at all. I just wanted a simple way to directly interface with the ELM327. I was afraid that the unit would be like other "ELM327" clones that place the microcontroller under blob of black epoxy, making it hard to interface with.Fortunately, this unit comes with a Microchip PIC18F25K80 (which is what the real ELM327 should be using). Whether it's flashed with the real firmware is unknown, but it behave identically enough for all my use cases.In the photo, the largest chip in the center is the PIC18F25K80. The SOIC-8 chip above it is a CH340, which a USB-to-serial translator. The SOIC-8 in the top-right is a SIT1040, which is a CAN transceiver. I believe the random assortment of FETs and resistors in the bottom right are for the ISO-L, ISO-K, and J1850 buses.Of note, there are no voltage regulators in the unit as it takes 5V directly from USB. For my use cases, I'll essentially be de-soldering the CH340 and connecting a custom-built board into the 5V, GND, TX, and RX lines.EDIT: The voltage reading is inaccurate by about 0.2V. The circuit here differs from the recommended circuit in the ELM327 datasheet in that there is a Schottky diode between the Vbat and the ELM326's ADC. The diode has a voltage drop between 0.15V to 0.25V. I guess the diode provides extra protection, but it affects voltage reading accuracy. If you feel inclined, you can desolder the diode and put a bridge wire in its place.

Worked great for forscan app. Compared to other scanner only functions this has bidirectional control and scanner function for the same or less price. I keep 1 in each of my Fords and I have 3.

Apparently FORScan only supports certain OBD II adapters, and this isn't one of them. I was able to clear transmission adaptive tables, disable the key-in-ignition chime, and of course read trouble codes. When I tried to enter the PATS procedure to program a spare key, FORScan refused to enter the procedure due to not supporting the adapter.

Works with Forscan like it claims ,though the program says its not quite compatible and some features may not be available, I havnt found any feature unavailable for me yet. I use it with Forscan for my 2013 F-150 Ecoboost XLT which does need the MS/HS switch that this adapter has. Maybe some newer or different Ford vehicles need a different adapter for use with Forscan but this one worked for me.

Needed this to interface with my 2011 F150.Only had one key programmed to start the truck. I was able to buy new uncut unprogramed key fobs, get the cut and even self programmed them to lock/unlock the doors, but needed dealer or locksmith to program the transponder to start truck. This unit along with a free forscan download I was able to perfectly program them. AND I bought a used steering wheel cruise control switch set and with the help of this unit and forscan again, and I was able to turn on cruise control on this14 year old truck that had never had it before. This all in addition to many many other more normal things that can be done. Good deal!

Arrived broken and Luger got in the way so I am outside of my return window.Will not connect to Windows or iOS(apparently this isn’t compatible). Software contained a virus that my virus scan caught on top of this all.I’m ordering another item, one that actually works with iOS and just works in general. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND you buy something else besides the pile of crap.

Avec ce modèle, il n'y a plus de secret. On voit tout et il est possible de "bricoler".J'ai pu modifier le comportement de mon véhicule. Je ne souhaitais plus que les veilleuses s'allument à chaque fois qu' l'on ouvrait une porte. J'ai pu désactiver cette option.J'ai pu aussi supprimer certains codes erreur d'AdBlue mémorisés dont j'avais résolu le problème.Je suis très satisfait de ce modèle. Il est filaire, ce qui est un plus pour moi afin d'éviter tous les désagréments que l'on peut avoir avec une connexion Bluetooth

Durante la connessione al veicolo con software Forscan, viene segnalata non completa compatibilità del device e che alcune funzionalità potrebbero non funzionare correttamente.Fatte alcune prove, non ho riscontrato però problemi di sorta e per quello che mi serviva (controllo errori centralina) ha funzionato alla perfezione.Proverò a personalizzare la vettura attivando o disattivando alcune funzionalità note per vedere se effettivamente è possibile procedere senza problemi.Il rilevamento della non perfetta compatibilità potrebbe non essere reale.
