The length of this bit at 1/4 shaft makes the router vibrate so much that the bearing fails and the blade started to chip within the first day of use. I was making templates with this bit and it ruined every one of them. Skip this bit and buy a quality router bit that will save you time and your project.

This is not a high quality bit such as a Freud, Whiteside or Ultra-shear. It's a disposable router bit, and needs minor improvement before use which I will explain. Taking cues from other people who left reviews, more than one cite the bearing coming off during use. Mine came with a T-9 star bit screw on the bottom, and I removed it and put a drop of blue thread lock on it before reinserting it. I gave it a firm twist to tighten it, sensing it might easily strip out if I tightened too hard. I let the thread lock cure overnight at ambient room temperature. The bearing did not come off during my use of the bit.The description mentions the material is carbide, but I have my doubts, and I think it's HSS at best, possibly another steel alloy. I used this bit to make glue edges on five 1-3/4" thick red oak boards, seven feet long for a kitchen island countertop. Two edges got more than one pass, but nearing the end with a couple edges to go, it was clear the cutting edge was getting dull, beginning to chatter, and true carbide would not dull so quickly. I was going slow as to avoid scalloping but it was becoming evident as the bit began to dull. The first few edges I did have no scalloping, the last few do. I can also say it did not leave any burn marks. For ten bucks, I made good glue edges with this bit, it did what I needed it to do and its useable life is over.

Do not ever buy this crappy product. It is not worth your time. I originally bought one give it a try and on first use the bearing fell off.So I thought, OK, this could be a fluke, the screw was loose and I’ll give it another shot. So I ordered another one.The second one did the exact same thing the bearing fell off the second one as well returned this one as well..They need to add Loctite to these to prevent the screw from unscrewing and the bearing coming off. This is now screwed up two of my templates.I will not be ordering another one

After only 15 feet of 3/4" pine, the blade is already dull. Bearing has not blown, but I am definitely replacing with a different bit. Gave 3 stars because it did initially cut, and the bearing didn't go.
