Nice hitch ball. Issue is with the install. I found a 1-7/8 socket for $10 at TSC that fits perfectly but it still requires 420ftlbs. Works well with the Equalizer Hitch I bought.

I bought a used equalizer hitch that had a non equalizer ball mounted in it. The previous owner must have taken a sharp turn which then pinches the bar mount into the threaded portion of the shank of the ball. It deformed the parts and caused some scarring of the friction surfaces. I was able to clean it up, but unfortunately you have to buy the special ball from equalizer to prevent this from happening again. I even tried to cut 1/2" off the standard ball threaded shank and it ruined the saw blades. My recommendation is to spend the extra $10 on the shorter shank equalizer ball.

12,000 rated worked perfectly for my weight distribution hitch. It has a thicker diameter than most normal ball hitch.

Not much to say about a hitch ball, this is sturdy and I feel very confident with it's design as I tow. Much heavier grade than the cheap ones you find at Wally-World.

The Equalizer ball's shorter shank was needed to replace a ball that someone ad mounted on the used Equalizer 4 point hitch I had purchased. The ball is as described and eliminates the possibility of interference with the spring arm receivers during tight turns when backing.

It is very difficult to get a socket on this, I had to use adaptor and a cheater bar to try and torque this. Not one of my mechanic friends owns a 3/4in ratchet torque wrench

A must have for an Equil-iz-er brand anti-sway hitch. the shank is 2-3/8 long. Standard is 2-5/8 long shank. This ball will fit down inside the ball pocket with no interference to the swing brackets. I bought a 1-7/8 socket from Amazon to fit inside the ball socket. 643216 powerbuilt.
