The old door had rotted from moisture damage. Thought this may be the solution. Seems to bond well, lay flat, be durable, and seal.

I have a huge deck, and I am re-doing the deck-boards, and while I am at it, putting vinyl on all the joists. I have used other brands on decks that I have rebuilt, and the vinyl was just not sticky enough to stay stuck on the sides of the joist in cold conditions. This tape is very sticky to almost any surface, and I find that if I roll it after application, it stays stuck, Expensive, but worth it in the long term.

This tape is great. A bit messy, but it WILL protect your beams. Have a can of mineral spirits on hand for clean up, it takes it right off. Despite what some people say, it's easily installed by one person. The stuff is tough! There is no question on its ability to stand up to weather, I've witnessed that already. If you're spending the extra money to build a composite deck, add this to protect your investment. Lots of people talk about how it seals around the screws, this is not a feature to take for granted.I made another use for it besides the beams and I have never seen or heard about anyone else doing this. When I tore down my old deck the sides of the nailing plates facing the treated lumber were severely corroded, but the sides facing the weather were barely oxidized. The newer pressure treating is getting less corrosive, but it's still pretty harsh on the fasteners, metal ties, and plates. I stuck the tape to the side of the nailing plates and ties that face the wood before nailing (and screwing) them in. Some of the adhesive oozed out of the holes around the fasteners. I have little doubt that even though the fasteners are still exposed to the corrosive wood treatment, there will be little or no oxygen getting in. From my second grade science class I remembered that a nail half way submerged in water will corrode rapidly, but a nail completely submerged rusts quite slowly. I won't be able to say with certainty how well this works for another thirty years, but I am very confident that at that time I will be able to do so.

The glue used in this tape adhered well to my deck joists. There was a little too much glue on the tape and it oozed out the edges when rolling. Better buy or have a roller to make sure it sticks. The price is good though

This worked really well for covering the double joists on the deck. Backer comes off fairly easily and it doesn't tear like some of the cheaper brands

I purchased 3 rolls of this and one roll of the Home Depot generic brand to have enough to complete my deck. This tape has like 4x the adhesive of the Home Depot brand and is much thicker because of it…but thats the purpose of deck joist tape, the adhesive goop goes around the deck screw to create a water seal and the rest of the tape keeps water from sitting on the joist under the decking to prevent rot. I pulled the home depot tape out by chance first and did around the 4 outer frame boards, then did all the joists with this brand from amazon. The difference is staggering. The tape is packaged well, it’s got like waxed paper on the sides to prevent the adhesive from being squeezed out, and let me tell you, this is some exceedingly stick stuff. The adhesion is fantastic, but it’s still removable if you screw something up. If you do pull the tape up it will definitely leave sone adhesive behind, but other than readjusting a small run you didnt apply straight, there’s no reason to take deck joist tape back up. It should last the life of the deck.Deck joist tape isn’t something most people get excited about, but i love getting bang for my buck. It was on the inexpensive side and it’s much better quality than the store bought brand. You can’t go wrong.

a bit thinner than other tapes I have used, though this is quite sticky and does not buckle and lose shape in the sun.would buy again.

Used for a good deck installation. Easy to apply with no adhering issues. Good thickness for padding and longevity.

I used 5 rolls of the 1.5" and 1 roll of the 3". It was used to cover the tops of 30 yr old pressure treated deck joists that were still in great shape except for the hundreds of nail holes from the deck bds I just removed. It stuck very well and we were walking on it quite a bit, with no apparent damage, while putting the new deck bds down. The new bds were cedar and stainless steel screws. Hoping for another 30 yrs.

Purchased a pack of two joist tapes. The tape was alright, wrinkled at the back and some on the side, the thickness is alright but definitely thicker than G-tape. The peeling part was a bit annoying as you can see in the pics. Thinking of returning it but no time to re-purchase another one. It’s definitely cheaper than G-tape but the quality is what you paid for. Hopefully it will last.
