I'm just a community orchestra member and didn't want to spend megabucks on a shoulder rest. The one I had was coming apart and scratching my viola as the rubber padding wore off. This particular one seems to be made sturdy and easily adjustable. It stays on my viola once it goes on. My other one would pop off once in a while. It's very comfortable and I don't find myself moving my viola around trying to find the correct fit. It's working out great for me. I really didn't want a color but since that was a choice I went with the light purple color. It's not that noticeable to an audience as I'm playing so I'm good with it. When the time comes, if I need to buy another one, I would buy this again.

My daughter uses this every day. We upgraded to a next size. She had her previous one for 4 years and still looks like new. Great quality!

This chin rest broke the very first time my daughter used it for middle school orchestra and her teacher told her that this brand commonly breaks easily
