This is an EXCELLENT match case. Sturdy as all get-out, well-integrated, holds a good number of matches, and there is NO DOUBT that it will be WATERPROOF when needed. Excellent, multiple striking surfaces look like they'll hold up well.Let's be honest: for your typical Boy Scout camping trip or family outing, this is way overkill. But if you're looking for some serious gear to keep your serious stormproof match supply absolutely, positively ready-to-rock, this is your match case.

This match safe is well made and the seal extremely tight. Along with the rubber gasket in place and the striker on the side already in place, there is an additional black o-ring and two strikers inside the case. I wanted the gunmetal to add to my gear, and it is very well made. It screws quite a bit, but the threading is to provide waterproofing. It's light, easy to find in a gear bag, and hung it using a carabiner inside the bag. The place made for attachment can be good for carabiner, paracord or whatever means you want to attach the item. The base is knurled, and the bottom rough textured, both of which can be used as strikers. I put a 25 match stormproof also from UCO inside, along with it's extra strikers, all fitting snug. A test strike on the base proved to light, so the others are more backups? This is the best match case I've had, and a toss in the sink and it floats when loaded. Quality made in the USA, and inside the way the cut is for the matches holds them securely but makes for ease of access so you're not trying to pull a match from down in a tube like some others.

Was looking for something besides those cheapo orange plastic "pill bottles" for water proof match storage and decided to try this out. Yeah it is on the expensive side, but it just looks cool, and feels awesome in your hands. It is one of those things you will just always be picking up and playing with ;) Anyways, it holds around 25 matches if you place them as the directions describe, and adding the included O-ring makes it water tight. You get around 20-25 strikes from t he included side strike pad and more from the bottom. On their website I see you can order a kit of replacement strike pads and O-rings for like 5 bucks.I liked the first one I ordered so much I currently have a second one on order to go in my home prepping supplies. (They one I am reviewing now went into my bugout bag)The one I am reviewing now arrived very quickly and as advertised, the second one has taken a little longer but should be here in the next day or two. Still not bad considering it is getting close to xmas.Anyways, if you want something really cool and functional and do not mind overpaying a bit, this is definitely for you!

I've owned these before, very nice quality and design with only one complaintit uses 1/2 quick thread to open,.... it really needs 2 turns because in a pack, or pocket caneasily turn open.Update; so I found a simple solution to the "to easy to open" replace the oring (-021) with a metric oring 2mmx24mm size with a dab of silicone grease....works perfect!!! now i'm happy

I have several of these that I've bought over the years. Excellent design and construction with quality materials and workmanship. They're not cheap - you can get others for much less - but you get what you pay for. If I need to start a fire, then I need it now. With these match cases, you can have full confidence that those matches are well protected and ready for use.

This match case is really an indulgence. It is beautifully crafted, and feels quality. It is well thought out in design as well. The shape of the 'mouth' where you take the matches out is designed to make taking them out easy. The striker is on the inside to protect it from getting wet. The contents inside are protected by the nicely machined screw cap, with an o-ring. (Extra striker(s) and o-ring are included.) An additional striker is on the base, on the exterior.Like I said, It is completly overkill, and the plastic case from Uco does the same function, just not with the same 'class'.Even the box it comes in is worthy of a 'presentation case'!!I'm happy with the expense.

This is an extremely practical product, keeping a large number of matches of various types, tinder and a striker all completely dry and easily accessible. It’s also one of those items that’s been so well designed and manufactured that there is a real pleasure in just owning it.
