With these I do not have to be extremely close in to clip out the weeds from my plant beds.

As other reviewers have noted, the handles (when extended) tend to slip. This is a constant problem. But they cut well. And I regularly use them simply because they fit well in my backpack . Also, the little rubber stop fell off not long after they were purchased. But I soldier on with them, sharpening as needed. I may experiment with a little spray adhesive to see if that would add more friction and keep the handles from slipping. If you need a pair of loppers to be portable (as I do), these will do.

I would not recommend these. They didn't cut the branches well and I looked at the blade after about three branches that were 1.5" thick (supposed to be able to cut up to 2") and it was chipped. Spend more money and get something reliable.

I got these extendable bypass loppers for yardwork purposes. So far, I've only really needed it to cut down some young trees that sprouted up in our lawn during a particularly long dry spell when we didn't need to cut our grass. The loppers were very effective in cutting the woody little trees. I had to struggle a little bit with the thicker ones, but that was probably more due to my own strength and the angle of cutting than anything about the loppers. I like the extendable handle option; I haven't needed it yet, but it's easy to adjust, and would make certain cutting jobs very easy. Overall, I'd recommend these loppers.

These cut well but do not stay locked when you extend them. I guess you get what you pay for.

This lopper really takes off the branches, But it will not lock in place e.g. the handles will not stay in one place. I need it to lock in the long handle position and it will not. Still a good strong tool.
