Your cart is empty.E-Z LOK threaded inserts for metal provide an easy to use solution for repairing or reinforcing threaded holes in metal. Ideal for use in metals like aluminum and cast iron, E-Z LOK threaded inserts are screw machined out of solid steel for greater strength and superior pull out resistance. Standard external threads permit the use of standard drills and taps for installation. Once the hole is prepared, E-Z LOKs are threaded into the hole like an ordinary fastener using a screwdriver, bolt and jam nut, or optional E-Z LOK drive tool. E-Z LOKs are self locking and will not back out or vibrate loose. A preapplied adhesive activates upon installation and bonds to virtually all metals. Fastener-ready in minutes, the adhesive seals against liquids and gases to pressures of 6,000 psi. when fully cured (72 hours).

These things are awesome. Far better than a traditional heli-coil type. Very strong and durable for items that need to be removed and installed frequently.

I gotta say I'm pretty impressed. I read some iffy reviews on heli-coils coming out, and I balked at the high price of the time-sert inserts. This seemed like a good compromise as I already own a tap and die set. I inherited a simplicity riding mower that had some issues. I had a stripped hole where the carb mounts on the engine block and wanted a solid insert due to the high vibrations. Time will tell, but I think this fits the bill. Installed easy and was able to get the carb mounted solidly.I will update my review if I have any problems.

The inserts worked pretty well but were difficult to install because the slot is too big for even a large flat head screw driver. My experience didn’t go as well as it could have, but it was my fault. My forstner bit worked fine to drill the hole but I needed to use some type of glue/adhesive to keep it in the hole. And I needed a better installation tool.I made this purchase to fit my Rockler screw stemmed castor wheels. They have 1/2 20 screws as opposed to most castor stems. The plan was to insert these into the base of a table I had built out of wood. The inserts were a perfect fit on the inside for the 1/2 20 stems. I just never got them secure enough to work with the table.All that being said, if you use inserts like this and have the accompanying tools and adhesives you need already, these are probably a good choice. Very sturdy feeling and well machined.

These inserts are so awesome! I was able to repair some stripped threads using my regular tap set instead of going with the expensive Timesert sets. They are much more durable and will not back out like the Helicoil type inserts.

The rails for my OneWheel are aluminum and the screws are notorious for stripping out the holes. I had to grind a few of these down to only 3mm tall, but they got the job done. Much more study than helicoil style inserts.
