These are the best! We no longer have critters in our trash! We remove the cord for trash day - it is holding up just fine. Just don't install too tight/pulling - it keeps out "guest" without having to be pulled to tight. Other reviews mentioned that the cord pulled to plastic off - it was most likely too tight. These are great and easy to install.

We had tried straps, bungee cords, and weights to keep the raccoons out of our large plastic trash bins but nothing was working. The baby raccoons were able to lift up the sides of the lids where the cords weren't attached and squeeze into the can. They were raiding every night. I reached my limit when I went to put trash in the bin at sunset one night and there was already a raccoon in the bin, which came out toward me. The problem is so bad that some of our neighbors keep their trash indoors all week, which causes pests to come into their houses. I bought 3 LidLocs and installed them on three sides of the trash bin (the fourth side is the bin hinge). Installation was very easy, using an electric drill. I put just enough tension on the LidLoc straps that they are stretched about three-eights of an inch when closed, which is not very much tension, but it's enough to stop the raccoons. The first night after install was the first night without raccoon raids, and we've been free of the trash pandas ever since. Because I did not have to put a lot of tension on the straps, we are able to unhook them one-handed to put the trash in the bin. We leave the straps unhooked when we put the bins at the curb and they do not get in the way of the collection truck's grabbing arm. Very grateful to have found this product at a reasonable price. I am concerned they won't last multiple years since the materials seem to be ordinary bungee cord material and plastic anchors, and outdoor temperature variation can be tough on those materials.

Was easy to install....although my trash company wasn't too thrilled with me drilling holes in their cans. I have watched Javelina knock the cans over and they survived. They were able to stick their noses in and get a little trash, but hopefully they get frustrated with my cans and go to some neighbors instead. Both the plastic cleats broke after about 3 months (1st Pic), don't know how it happened whether animals broke them off or they snapped when cans were falling over from attack. I reached out to Customer Service and they mailed me more cleats as requested.

I'll start off with the only negative and reason for the 4 star instead of 5. The instruction sheet was really hard to understand. It took a bit to sort out how to install, which may frustrate some folks. But once I thought through it a couple of times, I figured it out on my own. From that point, the actual installation was easy. Drill a couple of small holes--one to feed the line through and one to secure the bit of plastic that acts as the anchor--and you're pretty much done. The quality seems good as well, although I live in a climate with very little snow/ice so wear-and-tear will be minimal for me. It's easy to latch and unlatch, and if you're concerned with how it looks, it's really minimal and blends in well. Reminder to leave it unlatched on pick-up day if your garbage truck has the automated arm!

Bought 2 sets of these as the price was right and they looked like what we needed. The raccoons in our neighborhood have been getting into our trash on trash night and tossing grossness all over our yard and street. Nothing like seeing your grandson’s dirty diaper in your neighbors yard. These were very easy to install. I watched a quick video, grabbed my drill and drill bit, and was finished installed in a matter of minutes. They worked great at keeping out the raccoons but the trash people broke one - where the elastic strap latches to the catch. We plan to undo the latch In the morning before the trash people arrive to prevent that happening again. I purchased another one to fix the piece that broke off. I still think it’s a good product and would recommend. It did what we wanted it to do. The following week the part held up without issue.
Excellent jars, packaging, and delivery.

Had this for about six months, during which time it worked well. Securely kept the lid closed and very easily installed. But the cleat snapped completely off a few weeks back when the waste company was a little too rough with the can. It appears the plastic on the screw shaft of the cleat is too thin and brittle to withstand the inevitable rough treatment by garbage collectors. When I asked the company about the warranty, I discovered it's only 3 months (90 days) and that it would cost just as much to order parts and have them delivered as it would to buy this or a competitor product. Haven't yet decided if I go with another Lidloc or if I switch to something that will hold up better to rough handling.

We live in the mountains and on trash day - the local ever-growing bear population has discovered: Those big green plastic containers on rollers sitting out by the street are just filled with delicious things. We've tried many tricks to discourage the bears - but the Lid Lock has been the most effective and easiest to use, yet.Installation does require several holes to be drilled into the trash can - A fact we haven't shared with our trash company...but we figured we'd deal with that issue sometime in the future. For now - the bears are rooting through our neighbors' trash instead of ours.

J'ai dû retourner ce produit car je croyais qu'il y en avait 5 dans le paquet. Ça devient dispendieux quand on a besoin de plusieurs.
