2000 Subaru Legacy Outback. The bolts are excellent and a month after assembly, no problem with these bolts. The description is a bit confusing - this is a set of 6 bolts - enough to do 1 head, not both. In order to do both heads with new bolts, it will take 2 sets. Someone else commented about that and glad I saw it.Some say the head bolts need to be replaced, others say they don't. In our situation, we replaced a head with a remanufactured one due to bent valves (timing belt) and just cleaned up the other head (2 new valves and lapped all on that head). Decided to install new head bolts with the remanufactured head and use the old head bolts on the old head. So far, so good.

Replaced the engine on my son's 2009 Subaru Forester. Bought a JDM motor and had to swap a few items to meet CA smog requirements. Decided it would be a good idea to check the valves and replace the head gasket. These bolts fit perfectly and appear to be a quality product. No complaints.

As others have stated, you will need to order two sets to do a complete head gasket job. There are varying opinions on whether you need to replace them. I chose to replace them. There were a couple pitted spots that i felt were no longer safe. If anything, more piece of mind. Not ridiculously expensive, perfect oem fit, and used the same 12 point socket as what came off. Hopefully they never have to be removed again.

These bolts get the job done and are of great quality. By the way the whole transaction went as promised. Note; When installing these bolts you should apply a thin coat of oil on the threads and washer. I personally like to use gear oil; and make sure to clean the treads in the block as well.

Installed on an EJ25, SOHC engine on my '99 Subaru Forester. Needed to order two sets (6/set) to do both heads. A little pricey for some bolts, but worth it.12 point, 14 mm socket required. As well as a quality torque wrench if you want the job done right. If you're buying these, you probably already have both.

I must clarify. The bolts themselves are as I expected and worked fine. It was the information and description of the product that I have issue with. I think of "Head bolt set" as being enough head bolts to replace all of them on the engine. This is not the case. They are very expensive and you have to buy two sets! Not cool.

I had to change the head gaskets on my Outback. While I still have the factory bolts, I decided to change the bolts anyway as I noticed the head gaskets had been changed by the previous owner. I got 180000 Km put on the car before I had to change them, so I will see if these bolts make it go farther before the next change is required. If not, I have the old bolts saved and will just reuse them on the next gasket change.

They're bolts... The threads were cut well, and install was a breeze. You need 2 sets for a Subaru. For install on a ej253:Torque all to 23 ft lb. Starting centre out opposite sidesTorque all to 53ftlb.Back off 180° in reverse order, then 180° again. If there's any creaking, apply more anti seize to threads and washer. RestartTorque to 55ft lb.Tighten 90° in order,Tighten another 90°.

Did the job, but you need two set for a H4 !Why only 6 in a set when you need 12 !?that's a bit costly :/
