Was contemplating on whether i should spend that much on a vacuum as it's fairly expensive for what it is.But one of my first project before it got used as an actual dust-collector was removing asbestos-containing popcorn ceiling and I wanted something with an actuall "heppa" filter. And Festool is kind of something i can trust. I didn't have much debris on this project as i was trying to be as carefull as i can possibly be. But having this as a back-up definitelly helps. For woodworking projects - compare to cheaper shop-vacs this works much much better (for fine dust from sander etc). And same quality vaccuums are actually about the same price if not more expensive.

I needed another dust extractor for my Festool Kapex miter saw and didn't need the large one that I bought for my sander. This small unit was exactly what I needed. The Festool quality is very consistent and it exceeds all of my expectations. It was easy to assemble, and was working in a few minutes. I wish it had Bluetooth capability but for the price I can reach over and press a button. It's nice when tools like Festool make a product that is affordable. Their prices are a bit high but worth every penny in my opinion. So have a few cheaper options makes it even better.

Festool items are always expensive and this is no exception. It's probably worth the cost if you want a vac that is capable and also hepa. If I had found a source for a Fein turbo I probably would have bought it instead.

This is my first professional dust collector. This has WAY more suction than my 3X size 6.5 hp shop vac I bought 10 years ago. I bought this to hookup to my hobby CNC and have been pretty happy with it. This vac hooks to a dust cyclone so I don't fill up the bag. It is much quieter than the shop vac and doesn't have that high pitch whine the shop-vac does. The only thing a little goofy is that if you want to hook up a standard 2.5" shop vac hose, the hose doesn't quite fit snaking out the front cover, so you run it with the top kinda half open. If I were to give feedback to the design engineers--widen the channel the hose comes out on the top just a little bit. For the smaller size hose, it works just fine. The small hose is perfect for hooking to a dust collection port on a sander. Just for the hose, I probably should have gone with the competing Fein. But, I like the looks of the Festtool better. I'll just 3d print a chunk of plastic that gets me through the hose opening.

I put it off because of price and tried to make do with a cheap shop vac, a home vacuum, dust collectors and other things instead but none of them really did the job. Once you try one of these, you don't want to use anything else.
