I've been an audiophile for many years and I've owned multiple sound equipment where each piece can cost thousands of dollars. I've tested this device with Fiio FH9, Beyerdynamic DT990 Premium and HIFIMAN HE1000 v2 earphones. I've compared it against Fiio X7 player, Fiio BTR7 and my desktop external sound card xDuoo TA-10. The sound quality is very, very high and it's very difficult to find any gaps compared to much more serious and expensive devices. I think 99% of people will not be able to hear the difference between this device and much more expensive devices.I've used this device extensively, every day, multiple hours during my vacation and in the last few weeks. Found 0 issues.I love the case clip, so convenient. I could use the clip to attach it anywhere so I could very quickly to access it to pause, or resume, or change volume, etc.The power output will be enough for all earphones and lower impedance large headphones. It can even be fine for 250-300 Ohm headphones if you don't need a very high volume. It will struggle with 600 Ohm headphones though. The power output is lower than on Fiio BTR7, Fiio BTR17 and much lower than on Fiio X7. But Fiio X7 is a beast that beats many full-size desktop sound cards, so you can't really compare it to Fiio X7. But just for reference.Absolutely love this little device.Highly recommended.

I was looking for a dac/amp to get louder volume on PS5 and while yes this device technically works it is actually a quieter output than if you just drive your headphones with a controller. Per Fiio it is an issue with the USB audio output on the PS5. Other mfgs have been able to bypass this but Fiio doesn't seem interested. If they ever introduce a firmware update I'll update this review. PS5 Pro does not seem to be affected with this usb audio issue(anecdotally).PS5 issues aside I absolutely love this little thing. I work from home and can have it simultaneously connected to my work pc and personal computer/phone via Bluetooth and if I get a call come in from work the device will automatically pause whatever I'm listening to and switch to work call and once the call is over will switch back an unpause the music/video on my personal pc. You can answer and end calls all with the device too.Audio wise the output is very clean. I definitely notice better detail on music than without it. Having the eq options is nice as well. Even though it didn't fit my original planned use for it I am keeping this item as I enjoy it so much for everything else.

I'm happy with my purchase. I use iems a ton a work overnight, loving the sound quality and freedom I get vs usually more expensive Bluetooth options that may be uncomfortable in the ear. The range of codecs is great and eq is awesome through the app. Warning this can drive your music, and I mean insanely loud! Start small.

Tl;dr: Connectivity issues, battery life issues, poorly-implemented wired functionality, poor battery life even after firmware update, lacks features compared to BTR5. Spend the extra $50, or spend $20 less.I purchased the FiiO BTR15 a few months ago, and it's been my daily driver for audio since then. I purchased the device to replace my BTR5, which I thoroughly used to destruction and beyond. I loved the BTR5, but it fell short when playing heavy orchestral tracks (instruments seemed too close, definition was muddy/lacking compared to other DACs).So, with the BTR15 competitively priced and marketed as an upgrade to the BTR5, I purchased it after reading reviews praising its improved resolution over the BTR5. While these reviews were accurate, they left out several significant flaws that make me regret my purchase.1) Connectivity problems. The Bluetooth regularly and randomly loses contact with my phone, tablet, or any other Bluetooth device. For example, when I'm walking down the street, my music will suddenly stop, the device will disconnect, and then reconnect. Sometimes it fails to reconnect entirely, and I have to do it manually through the Bluetooth menu.2) Do not use this DAC with multiple paired devices, you will regret it. If you have two paired devices playing audio at the same time, they will conflict and fight, causing horrible aliasing and distortion. It also IMMEDIATELY begins communicating with everything it can in range, exacerbating the issue.3) the battery life is poor, relative to the BTR5. I suspect this is due to the changed internals; the 15 apparently uses a more conventional amp design than the 5. Running a pair of etymotic er2se's, I'm lucky to get 4 hours of life listening at volume 12, even with the firmware update.4) poor wired connectivity. When using it in PC or phone mode, just bumping the cable even lightly causes it to lose its connection, and if you're using the FIIO music app, the app will require fresh permissions to resume audio playback.5) It lacks several key features of the 5, namely the filter settings. The 5 has several low pass options more; slow, apod, apod 2, and brick come to mind. I always used slow for my filter settings, so to find it missing from the 15 is disappointing. While the audio quality is quite good, and certainly better than the 15, the loss of features and battery life do not justify the increased expense. This product is bad value; for my requirements, the BTR7 is a far more compelling option, and for the average consumer, I feel the BTR5 is far more compelling proposition, especially since it has 2x the battery life, from my observations. It is neither fish nor fowl, neither a mid-range value product nor a low-range entry product, and I suspect it is actually cheaper to produce than the 5 due to the loss of features. Avoid this product, and buy the 5 or 7.

Wanted puttering portability without driving RF radiation directly into my ear canal with wireless buds. Reviews mentioned 4 hours but the app said I had 40% battery life left after 6. More than I needed! Small, light and sturdy. Perfect for my needs. The included belt clip allows for the BTR15 to be orientated forwards, backwards and upside down should make for outstanding button location and wire management considerations with clothing. I like this design decision!!Linux users be warned! noise issues out of the box were solved by the firmware update. Unfortunately, at least Rythmbox disagrees with being controlled by the BTR15 buttons while using wireless. Manufacturer support reply says it's compatible with Android and IOs "Only". However the manual DOES indicate Windows functionality.App is pretty good. But the widget doesn't update when the song is changed in the main app. Can't give 5 stars for volume control. If they improve the software, It will be updated to 5 stars.Update, Still happy. App does the upgrade, but no apparent shuffle play. The battery indication is unreliable. But I got about 10 minutes after low battery warning even though the app and unit said 20% battery life. Still got 5+hours. Basic phone player is better. I'm using PowerAmp without issue.Asked Fiio about linux compatibility. Not saying anything at all about that interaction

The great hardware is suffering from that great software. Windows drivers are outdated, mobile application is so so (but it works once you understand/accept the shortcomings). The tiny screen is not that good as well.
