this was a gift for a friend. My friend likes repairing and making things. He said he liked this gift very much, especially the handle, which was amazing and could hold the files and saw blades in his tool library.

This is such a neat tool idea. I'll get started by saying that the files that come with this kit are pretty nice I have used them to file into high carbon steels like 1084 and 5160 , and they have done a great job. The saw blades that come with this are decent but I have not used them as much as I have the files. Most importantly the handle is comfortable to use , pretty sturdy and it is very easy to swap out whatever tool you are using by pressing a single button . That said I use this kit mainly for the files and handle and this kit allows for accurate file work and I an very happy with it. I think for the price this is a good value tool kit .

I ordered this TOOLAN HARDELL 8-In-1 Tool Set, File & Saw Set through the VINE application. The carbon steel files come in assorted shapes and grit. They all fit into the easy-to-use, comfortable handle. To insert a file into the handle, it has a tab I pressed down on and inserted the file handle. The Toolan handle allowed me to use the metal files comfortably without fatigue from holding the long file handle that always seems to fight me when I'm using it. I most recently used the flat number 2 file to sharpen my machete; I was impressed by the sharpness of the edge I got on it; it sliced through a sheet of paper. All the files, cutting blades, and handle come in a handy roll-up carrying case that is easy to store or place in your toolbox. They are easy to use, are of excellent quality, and have multiple uses. The handle alone is worth the price; it prevents fatigue in my hands and is used with all the accessories.

I really didn't expect much from this, mostly because of the low price, but I am actually surprised. If you see my reviews, you know that I am very critical of, well, everything, but when something is good I have no problem telling anyone about it.In this case, the handle is actually quite comfortable to use. I have normal to large size hands and I thought it would be a bit of a small handle for me, but actually it fits well, and even my wife has no problems with it and her hands are way smaller than mine.I like how the handle is a universal handle for all of the various pieces, and I found that the handle is also able to fit all of my sabre saw blades. It fit the hack saw blade that they sent in the box, but also mine that I have laying about. It also holds the files quite well. I don't have any existing large files, I mostly use the jeweler ones, which all come with handles, but I think it would probably fit most files as well.The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is the pouch. It's fairly flimsy and if you pick it up wrong, things fall out. I learned the hard way to be careful, but in reality it's really just a small thing. Maybe at this price they could not come up with something better, and technically it does the job, so most people will probably not care about it as much as I do.

The handle is my favorite part of this kit! I cannot understate the usefulness of the univeral handle. I use a lot of files and have a lot of nylon handles that always end slipping or twisting or pulling out of my gloves. This blade handle has none of those issues and I could not be more pleased with it.The included files are sharp. They are purported to be of very good quality metal but all I can say for sure is that they work and work great.The reciprocating saw blades don't seem to be anything special though, but with this handle they are easy to use manually.The rollup case is well made, but it sure seems like these sharp files will wear it down. Then again what other option is there for portability besides a toolbox?

I like this set a lot - primarily for two reasons. First, I like the heavy-duty rip-stop nylon roll-up case that holds the tools, and second, I'm absolutely in love with the handle.As to the roll-up case - I have many files, and you probably do too. I have had mine in a relatively heavy-duty PLASTIC roll-up - but plastic just doesn't hold up over time like rip-stop nylon. So I'm instantly pleased to be able to replace that plastic roll-up.As to the handle, I have an assortment of okay-to-terrible wood handles that I jam whatever file I want to use into. Some handles hold onto files better than others. Some files hold onto handles better than others. None of the combinations are great. I've stabbed my hand with the suddenly-loose tang of a file on many occasions. This handle hangs on to the tang of the file like nobody's business. I'd be pleased enough with that, even if the handle was coated with thorns - but it isn't (of course). It has nicely sculpted and softly cushioned contours that make it ever-so-easy to hold on to.I'm a fan. Highly recommended.
