This cord would not work on my laptop or tv. I was trying to connect a camcorder but no signal was received, which seems consistent with other reviews. This product should not be available to purchase because it does nothing. Amazon rejected my review saying it was spam which makes me suspicious that they do not want negative feedback.

If you are looking to record mini DV tapes, you must buy a PCIE card, or a bunch of adapters from apple, DONT BUY THIS!

It's simple, it doesn't work. I've tried on two different computers with three different 1394 adapters. Don't bother.
