The cable didn't work for me. My camera is old as is my operating system. So with that said I can't give a good review. As far as returning it, it wouldn't make any since because the price for returning it is about what it cost. I'm not gonna cause the seller to be inconvinced for such a small amount.

I learned after the fact – which is to say after buying and confirming that this cable does not work for downloading DV footage to my computer – that FireWire and USB are fundamentally incompatible. Yes, someone made a nice 3-foot cable with a USB connection on one side and a 4-pin FireWire connector on the other. Yes, it does exist as a cable. So, maybe I can just connect a camera to it and download this footage? No, nope, nyet. Guess what – It doesn't work. Don't buy it.

This appears to be a "straight through" cable connecting the four lines from the USB-A connector on one end to the four lines in the IEEE 1394a 4-conductor "i-LINK" connector at the other. It may be perfectly fine for its intended application, but it is not a cable-plus-electronics interconnect that will let you use standard USB to talk to a standard IEEE 1394 device.

Do not buy this product. Tried different drivers and the they did not work. If you have Windows 10 or 11 Firewire is pretty much dead. I should have read return on this as it is frequent. DO NOT BUY and waste your money or time.

windows 11 lo marca como dispositivo desconocido. tal vez el cable sea útil para conectar aparatos de video y sonido entre sí. pero directo a una pc no funciona.

nothing against the shipper the product arrived in excellent condition, and on time but for what I needed it for it did not work. My computer did not recognized the camera I plugged the cable in. I have a sony camera with firewire output and a computer with USB inputs I was hoping to transfer my video to my computer - no such luck. I have video capture software but it also did not recognized the cable.
