Polycarbonate is the gold standard for floor mats of this type. They last the longest and work perfectly with items on casters. I would highly recommend these, in any size they make.

This is a nice, solid, rigid mat. I have this over a medium pile carpet and have used it for 9 months, every day all day with no dimples, from the chair wheels, or cracks or any sign of wear. It looks the same as the day it was new. Very impressed. Happy with this one!

I've rolled my chair over the edges of this mat more times than I can count, but the mat looks like new. Inferior models have readily cracked with this type of abuse, but this one just brushes it off. And no synthetic chemical smell whatsoever. I'll be buying more.

Ordered one of these for our home office. After testing it for a few weeks, ordered a second one. Chairs roll easily. No denting. Look nice (unobtrusive). In a previous apartment, our son wore a hole in the carpet...so we wanted to be sure to protect the carpet in this apartment. This kind of protector comes in a variety of profiles (in terms of bumps on the bottom) and this one seems to match our carpet fairly well. Over the course of a few weeks, it will gradually shift a few inches...nothing unmanageable. Other products we used had to be pushed back into place daily. See photos attached to this review to get a feel for the depth of the pile on our carpet. Summary: unless you weigh less than 30 pounds, you definitely want polycarbonate (tough - won't dent) and you want to carefully match the bump size to the floor. Within these two constraints, this is a good product at a reasonable price.

The flat package is awesome. Mat is indeed flat, unlike many other rolled ones that are hard to flatten.

This is a great little mat, nice and solid and really grippy with the little protruding teeth underneath that really grip the carpet and make for absolutely no movement of the mat whatsoever. Mine's been in place several months and hasn't moved at all.It's flexible but has a very hard surface so the chair rolls very nicely. Because it's so hard it kind of 'reverburates' a little when rolling the chair over it, so it can be a little noisy.CAUTION - the sides can be a little sharp, enough to worry about walking into it barefoot. That might not be a worry for you but as I use this at home it's something I'm watchful of. It's not going to split your foot open unless you do something crazy but it could give a nasty scrape.This can easily be solved by taking a file to the edge and smoothing things out so don't let this put you off what is a great product.

Commandé et livré dans des délais courts. Sert à protéger le dessous d'un bureau (en moquette) de salissures animales et autres possibles et de l'usure. Cela donne en plus une nouvelle jeunesse à la chaise dactylo qui roule très bien dessus . Entretien facile, matière agréable, semi-rigide quand on le pose mais bien stable avec des petits picots dessous. D'un seul tenant, bien choisir la dimension. Facile à installer. Aspect visuel agréable, plaque lisse décor plastique transparent granité avec des petits pois brillants (les picots).Solide et facile à entretenir et doux aux pieds. Agréable en tous points et tellement pratique.

While this mat does protect the carpet under my chair castors, that's the best I can say for it. I often walk about the office barefoot, or I used to; this mat curls up at the edges and the edges are very sharp indeed. On one occasion the edge was so lifted that my foot went under the plastic mat and as I was turning, ended up with gouges across all my toes thanks to the sharp bobbles that are meat to dig into the carpet.With the amount the mat flexes and turns up at the edges, I'm not convinced it will last for long, though that's not cause to weep. Previously I had a really good quality mat from Viking with a thick edge border that never curled or did damage, but after many years it died. I shall have to go back to Viking as this mat is just plain nasty and dangerous.

This is brilliant! It has saved my brand new carpet. Silly me, I bought a good quality carpet for my study and didn't realise the pile was a touch longer than my old carpet. Consequently, my wheelie office chair was getting stuck and making giant groves in the new carpet. This chair mat really does the job, it looks sleek and stylish and I think (hope!) it will last. It is worth every penny, and the carpet is completely protected. When you move the mat to vacuum, there are little 'pin' marks all over the carpet from the spikes, but as soon as you vacuum they are gone. Also, it makes it much easier to move about when sitting on wheelie chair, there is no slippage either. Brilliant product, expensive but it works.

I am not sure yet. The entire mat seems rather light, thinner than the picture suggests (just under 3mm) and flexible, not at all sure that it will take the weight of the office chair and me sitting on in.It is, of course, too early to say, but I hope that this is not a waste of money, for that I cannot see this item lasting. It should be suitable for a baby chair perhaps, but a 20 kg office chair and 80 kg person? Not sure yet.I will update my review in a few months' time.Update 1) It is taking the 100 kg of weight. Contrary to another feedback, I do not find the edges sharp at all. All four corners are nicely rounded off.Update 2) I have added an extra star (up to '4' from '3')
